Colonoscopy

The weather here the last few days has been unseasonably warm.  I don’t mind the warm weather one bit.  I just hope the storms that usually occur behind it aren’t bad.

Today I had my last doctor appointment……the dreaded colonoscopy or my 50th birthday present to myself.  It is what I refer to as the necessary evil.  My appointment was at 11:00 this morning.  Of course I was there early but did not get called until 12:15.  I was not a happy camper.LOL   As anyone knows who has had this procedure done you are already starving and any extra time you have to wait just makes it worse.  I think we finally headed home after 2:00 p.m.    All joking aside I was relieved to get a good report.   Having a routine colonoscopy is so important in detecting cancer early.  Sadly, earlier this month my cousin Billy died from colon cancer. I don’t think he had ever been tested.  Early detection probably would have saved his life.  So, as much as I complain about the prep and process of the procedure I am so grateful that it exists.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

  2. The worst is the prep...after that it's a piece of cake..McGyver has to have one every 5 years..This year when we go back his Cardio guy wants the Colonoscopy and the Endoscopy..which is basically being reemed from both ends..YUCK!

  6. Ohhh, well good for you. I hate the prep. Have had two, and have to have them every three years. Dreading the next one already. But yes, I agree it does save lives and I always feel good when it's over with...
