The rain has found us.

Yesterday was a travel day for us. Our destination was Chinook RV Resort in Lincoln City, OR.  The trip up Highway 101 was pleasant with beautiful scenery.  It has been years since we have traveled this area.  I snapped a few pictures from my seat as we rolled on down the road so pardon the bug splattered windshield.

A little wildlfe on the road....
and lots of old bridges.

We had warm weather and sunshine on the trip but later on in the night the rain started.  The forecast shows rain in the area for the next 10 days. Uck!  We have been spoiled with good weather thus far.  I guess you could say the rain finally found us.

That's a big tree!

Yesterday we arrived in Leggett, CA and are staying Redwoods River Resort.  This is a beautiful park with tall Redwood trees.  The site is 30 AMP but with all the trees there is enough shade to keep things cool so we don't the air conditioning.

This is our site.  So cool.... we are parked right in between two large Redwood trees.
Today was sightseeing day.   It was around lunch time before we got our start so John found us a burger place to eat.

We both had a burger with onion rings.  It was quite tasty.

We drove down Avenue of the Giants to see the giant Redwood trees.  We visited the area way back in the early 90s but the sight of these trees never gets old.

John standing by a fallen tree that has been cut on one of the trails.  Now that was big tree.   These definitely are one of nature's wonders.

I am standing at the bottom left edge of this tree.  I thought I was small before but I feel very tiny up against this redwood.

Back in December of 1964 there was a flood in this area.

Here is the pole indicating the water level.  I can't image the water getting that high.

This was an odd looking tree.
From the side it kind of looks like a face of some sort.....to me that is.

I could't resist taking a picture with water in it  and
a picture with a bridge in it.

Don't know what we will do tomorrow but I am sure we will come up with something.

Last day at Bass Lake.

Not much going on in the park today.  Several people left and a small group of motorhomes came in later in the afternoon.  They were all traveling together and you know I just had to watch them park.

Today is our last day at Bass Lake so we decided to take drive along the opposite side just to see how much water there was.  There was lots to take pictures of.  Such pretty scenery.

Tomorrow we will be heading out to Delta Shores Marina Resort in Isleton, California.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

A visit to Yosemite National Park

Today was a beautiful day for a visit to Yosemite National Park.  The weather was good, temperatures in the high 50s and sunny.  One the way to the park we stopped off at Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad.

The Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad  is a historic three foot narrow guage railroad with two operating steam train-locomotives in the Sierra National Forest near the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park.  We didn't go on an excursion but enjoyed looking at the train.

Several people have told us that the waterfalls in Yosemite weren't much to see because of the drought that this area is experiencing.  Lucky for us we were able to get a few pictures of the falls as well as lots of other beautiful scenery.
