Blue Bird, Walking & Hot Pink Toenails.

Up after 9:00 this morning and out with Fred on his morning walk.  When I got back to our site I saw a little blue bird at the rear of our site.  I tried to zoom in and get a good picture.

A little while after breakfast John and Lester decided to go on a walk around the area.  They took the camera along and got a few pictures.

Savannah and I stayed behind and gave ourselves a pedicure.  It is a tough job but someone has to do it. LOL

We both liked the hot pink.

While we were hanging out today I cooked a roast for dinner tonight along with some rice, mushroom gravy and carrots.

Memorial Day

Today we pay tribute to all those in our military who have given unselfishly to protect the freedoms we all enjoy.

John started cooking BBQ ribs this morning so they would be just right for dinner tonight. They were so good. This time I got a picture before we ate them.

We watched as the weekend campers left the campground today.  Yesterday the park was almost full with only one or two empty spots left.  There are only a few of us in the park tonight.

Lester, Savannah, John and I spent the afternoon playing several games of Mexican Train Dominoes.

Tomorrow Lester and Savannah’s mom Shannon has a job interview.  Good luck Shannon.

On the road with Lester & Savannah.

Up and out of Milton, WV by noon and on our way to Littcarr, KY. We are staying at Littcarr Campground (COE Campground). It is a small park but very nice. After getting everything setup it was time to make a grocery run. The nearest Wal-mart was about 30 miles in Hazard, KY. We finally arrived after the GPS took us on a tour where we did not want to go. Sometimes you feel like there is an actual person in there changing directions and having a laugh as you try to find your way. LOL Oh well, most of the time the GPS works great.

After returning from our grocery run John grilled burgers and corn on the cob for dinner. I was planning on taking a picture of the food but, again, I thought about it after we had eaten. Oops!

Tonight we pulled out the Mexican Train dominoes and John won with a score 155. Lester scored 411, Savannah 635 and me, well I scored a whopping 678. LOL

Shannon called to let us know everyone made it safely to Florida. She will be going on a job interview Tuesday and we wish her luck.

Laugh everyday. Happy trails. Stay safe.

Lester’s graduation day.

Today is Lester’s graduation. Congratulations Lester. We are so proud of you.

Shannon got the U-Haul at 9:00 and by 9:30 it was being loaded. A few people came back to pick up a few things that she was leaving behind. John got busy mowing the grass. Before we knew it it was 3:00 p.m. and time to meet up with everyone to go have dinner at Texas Roadhouse before graduation. There was 17 in our group for dinner. We enjoyed the food and visiting with family. Savannah’s friend Alli (we call her facebook Alli as we know her) joined us. It was nice to meet her.

After dinner we all drove over to Lester’s school for graduation. I brought my camera along but some of the pictures blurred. Bummer!

Packing, loading & Giovanni’s Pizza.

John and I drove over to Shannon’s after lunch to see if she needed any help with packing for the move. She was very busy with people picking up furniture that she is not taking with her. She also had a lot of last minute packing to do. Tonight all of us went to Giovanni’s Pizza for dinner. We ate at Giovanni’s the last time we visited and enjoyed it very much. Very tasty pizza.

Also, since last year, John, Shannon and I have lost some weight. Shannon lost 48 pounds, John 23 pounds and me only 11 pounds. We decided to wear the same shirts we wore last year and take an after photo to see what we looked like.

Here we are waiting on people to pick up furniture. John looks startled. LOL

After the last person left picking up furniture Shannon, Lester, Savannah, John and I went back to our place for the night. We managed to get in a game of Penny. Shannon won with a score of 65. Yeah!! Tomorrow will be a busy day. The U-Haul will be loaded down, lunch with family and Lester’s graduation. One of our blog followers asked about the game of 10 penny. John has added a link on the right hand side. It is listed as "The Game of 10 Penny" under Favorite Links.

Congratulations Lester we are so proud of you.

Hangover 2, Baseball Cookout & 10 Penny

Busy day today. John, Shannon, Savannah and I went to see the Hangover 2. It was insanely funny. The language is a bit crude but we laughed as much watching this one as we did with the first one.

Earlier today Shannon’s sisters Renee and Nicole and Nicole’s two children Courtney and Korey, and Renee's grandson Jeremiah arrived after a drive from Georgia. This afternoon Harold and Sandie arrived after a long drive from Jacksonville, FL, then we all went over to the local park for Lester’s baseball cookout. While at the cookout Renee’s daughter Jessica arrived with Chantrell after a long drive from Georgia. We enjoyed burgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, potato salad and baked beans. Just as everyone finished eating the thunder and heavy rain moved in but did not last long.

After the cookout we all loaded up and journeyed to Shannon’s house for a round of 10 Penny. Last year when we were at Shannon’s she had the highest losing score of 775. Lester topped that score tonight and was proud to display this accomplishment. Wow! 940 points. Of course we all cheered him on. LOL

Apple pie all gone.

Up by 8:30 this morning and John was making blueberry pancakes.  They were very good they would make you want to slap somebody. LOL

DSCN3376

Fred wanted to know where his pancakes were.

Early this afternoon Shannon got a craving for an apple pie so John went the store for a few supplies and came back and baked her one.  Of course we all enjoyed eating that. LOL

Here is Shannon with the empty pie plate.  Nothing left but a few crumbs.

We got in a few rounds of 10 Penny today.  Savannah won a round, Lester won a round and I won a round.  Thought we might ought to get in a lot of practice before the rest of the family gets here this weekend. LOL

Poor Lester.  I guess playing all that 10 Penny wore him out. LOL

Tomorrow John’s brother Harold and his wife Sandie will arrive.  Can’t wait to see them and challenge them to some 10 Penny.

More bad storms.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the tornadoes in Texas, Missouri and Oklahoma. The devastation from the aftermath of these tornadoes is just staggering. Scary stuff.

Fred woke me up at 8:30 this morning ready for something to eat and his morning outing. Late last night thunderstorm moved through the area and he would not go out so he was more than ready this morning. As soon as we got back inside he took up a spot on the sofa with Lester. I think he has found a new buddy.

DSCN3374

Tonight John grilled some chicken on the grill and made some homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner. While he was busy with that I put together a garden salad. Shannon, Lester, Savannah, John and I really enjoyed our dinner. I forgot to take a picture of the food before we ate it. Again! LOL I guess we were too hungry to wait.

We got in three games of 10 Penny today. Savannah won the first game with a score of 65. John won the second with a 95 and Lester won the third with a 115. Shannon and I did not fare so well today but we will get them next time. LOL

Around 10:00 Fred decided it was time for him to go to bed and took up residence on the sofa again.
