100 Degrees.

Not much going on today but hot weather.  It reached 100 degrees.  According the news it looks like it is hot everywhere. We stayed in most of the day and took care of household chores.  Of course that isn’t much fun but it is a necessary evil. LOL

John and I walked out to the pier to look at the sunset again tonight.  It is amazing how different it looks every time you look at it.

Enjoying the beautiful sunsets.

We had hot temperatures today…..94 degrees.  Not much going on except a run to CVS for vitamins and the grocery store.  CVS had my supplements buy one get one free so I couldn’t pass that up.
John, Fred and I walked down to the pier to get some sunset photos.  The scenery so beautiful it would be a shame not to photograph it.

Sightseeing in Reedville.

Yesterday afternoon after getting all setup we noticed something leaking from the Freightliner.  Oh, that is never a good sign. This morning John took it to a diesel truck shop the next town over.  Luckily it was just a line that had come loose and and nothing major.  We like the inexpensive easy fixes.

After lunch we decided to go sightseeing and ended up in Reedville.  It was not very far but the scenery was nice.    This area has lots of large old houses which I love to look at.  We stopped in front of a few just to look and snap pictures.

They have many designs to choose from.  I always get the one with the lighthouse on it since I am a lighthouse fan.

Ocracoke Island

Happy Birthday to our friend Stephanie in Myrtle Beach.  Hope she had a great day today.  Fred is missing his favorite neighbors.

Up early this morning and off to Swan Quarters to catch the ferry to Ocracoke Island.  The drive took just a little over an hour and the ferry ride was two and a half hours. The last time we visited Ocracoke Island was in 2004  when I retired the first time.

We arrived in Ocracoke just in time for lunch and decided to revisit Howard’s Pub just like in 2004.  John and I chose the Hungry Howard Seafood Platter to split.  It was enough to fill us up.  On my way out I stopped by the T-Shirt counter to buy a new one.  The one I bought in 2004 lasted until 2010 when I had to throw it out because it had gotten threadbare and was full of holes.  I liked it so well I wore it a lot.   After leaving Howard’s Pub we made our way to the Hatteras Ferry to Hatteras and the outer banks.  This ferry trip took 40 minutes but the drive back took about three hours.

There were plenty of Sea Gulls following us.
We made it back home around 6:00 p.m.   Fred was very glad to see us and to get his dinner.  On my last walk in the park tonight I tried to get more sunset pictures but they didn’t turn out too well.

Happy Birthday Uncle Floyd, Cousin Teri and our friend Dick.

Another hot day here in Chocowinity.  I think it reached into the low 90s.  Lots of people pulled out heading home today.  Some were on vacation and the others were the weekend warriors.  Still lots of people here.  This park has scheduled activities so there is always something going on.

We know several people that are celebrating birthdays today.

We wish them all a very Happy Birthday.  Hope their special day was full of fun times.

On our way back from a Wal-mart run this evening I snapped a few pictures trying to get one of the sun setting.   Sometimes you get lucky and you get a good one.

Dragonfly.

It was a hot sunny day today with no rain.  I think it got up to 96 degrees.  After breakfast John and I walked around the park to take a few pictures.  This park is full of golf carts, boats and kids.  Lots of people on vacation here.
