This afternoon we drove over to Mac and Netters for a gathering of friends.  It has been a while since all of us have gotten together.  This was also our first time to meet Rod and Deb.  We follow them on Facebook and it was great to finally meet them in person.

On to Trinity, TX & dinner with Chuck and Kathy.

Woke up to very windy and chilly temperatures. Uck!   We were on the road before 11:00 a.m.  The trip was uneventful except for a short stop for road work.

We finally made it to Westwood Shores in Trinity around 2:00 and got set up.  There are several campground areas in this park.  We are in an area all by ourselves.

Crawfish, Texas kinfolk and …..out of gas!

Today we were on our way to the crawfish boil at Uncle Floyd and Aunt Becky’s and we ran out of gas.  Mike, it finally happened. LOL  Luckily we weren’t far from Uncle Floyd’s.  John called cousin Daniel and a few minutes later he drove up with Uncle Floyd and cousin Kevin and, of course, some gas.  Usually I am watching the gas gauge and nagging John about it but today I was playing on my IPad, got sleepy and and dozed off.  I woke up just as we passed the road to Uncle Floyd’s place then John told me I don’t think we will make it to the gas station.  Bummer!  Lucky for us kinfolk lived nearby.

By the time we arrived at Uncle Floyd’s lots of kinfolk were already there.

Just chilling out.

We had warm temperatures today and a little rain.  Most of our day was spent catching up on laundry and other household chores…….the necessary evils. LOL    Later in the afternoon we drove over to HEB to pick up a few groceries.  I just love that store.  Sure wish they were in every state we travel in.

I finally got around to taking a picture of our site.

The truck and rig filled up the site so the park owner let us park the car on another site right across from ours.  It is a nice quite and clean park.

Dinner with Daniel and Sherlyon.

Tonight John and I had dinner with my cousin Daniel and his wife Sherlyon in Beaumont.   I was born in Beaumont and lived there until I was 10 years old so I have lots of fond memories of my time living there.  We always have a great time when we get together.  Lots of laughs.

Visiting with Vidor relatives.

Up this morning and off to Vidor, TX.  As we travelled through Louisiana we  noticed lots of police on the road.  We saw an overturned truck which had some traffic held up on the opposite side of the interstate.

After getting settled in at Texas Star RV park we were off to Wal-mart for some supplies.

Later in the afternoon John and I drove over to see Aunt Betty.   We visited for a while then went to cousin Mary’s who was expecting us for dinner.  She had a large pot of chili on the stove with hot dogs, all the fixings and a yummy peach cobbler.  Thanks Mary for a delicious dinner.
