Funerals

Well it has been a busy day. One of the FF's father passed away and the funeral was today. Today I was off until 3p, then the mall 3-11 but Chief Hill called and asked if I could work for him, he was working for Chief Wilson so he could go to the funeral, the FF was on his shift. Chief Hill's father has been ill and passed away this morning so I worked today at the FD until 2:30p then to the mall. Chief Hill's father was 90 and had been in the hospital for about 2 weeks.
We have stayed busy at the mall with cleanup and a band setup for 6pm. Finishing up now with cleaning the restrooms. I am off tomorrow but we will see.

Painting

Usual morning, shower, breakfast by Bridget and off to work. Worked on truck specs and meetings in the morning. Bridget spent the day at Robert and Kelsey's house removing wallpaper and painting with Kelsey's mom. I have one of the FF's that is also a plumbing meeting me at R&K's house next Tuesday to change out the faucet seats. Bridget is running around getting stuff reading for Bob and Marcy's party so tonight I will be making hot dogs for supper at the FD. See you in chat.

Happy Birthday to Ellie, one of the chatters.

Plumbing

Mall 7a-3p, same as usual work wise. When I got off I picked up Bridget and we went to Lowes to pick up some supplies for Robert and Kelsey's new house. The house is a fixer upper, they are putting allot of of sweat into it but when they finish they will have a home they came both be proud of. I changed out the water shutoff valves to both commodes and replaced the fill valves in the tanks. They were busy painting in the kitchen, bedrooms and living room. On the way home at 8'ish we stopped at the Cracker Barrel for grub. That's it for now.

The Closing

Got to bed a little after 10pm last night and woke up at 5:30am, couldn't go back to sleep so I got up at 6. Worked the mall 7-3, we have been building and installing a cabinet and sink so we can do dishes. After work I took the mower down to a checkup and grease. At home now waiting for Annie to come over. Robert and Kelsey closed on a house today and we are going to ride over together. It is in Pearl and is about 15 miles from us. Last thing, the weather. Today's high was 73, tomorrows high is 41, does this even make sense. May not make chat.

Tired And Tires

Last night when I went to bed I started getting a bad headache, about 11:15 I took a Percogesic and another one about an hour later before my head stopped hurting long enough to fall asleep. Then the clock went off, needless to say I didn't get enough sleep. Slow day at the FD. I think it will be an early to bed, late to rise night.
My mall boss called and said that the trailer tires were delivered today. I work tomorrow from 7-3 and will take them home then.

Motor Trend

We got up at 9 and had waffles for breakfast. After breakfast we went over to Bob and Marcy's to drop off an invitation. Bridget and Annie are putting together a 50th wedding anniversary party for their parents on March 7th. They have been busy over the past few weeks getting the invitations ready. We left there and went down to the 2009 Mississippi International Auto Show in Jackson, we had free tickets and it was sponsored by Motor Trend. They had the 2010 Camaro there, I had a 1969 Camaro in high school. To me, the original design for the retro Camaro looked more like the 69', they have redesigned the redesign and I think they have lost the 69' look. We spent about 2 hours walking around. I took a nap when we got home. Been reading blogs and watching TV.

Tires

Worked the mall 7-3, nothing exciting going on. Got off and went by the PO then to the house. Loaded up four bags for Goodwill that Bridget put together over the past few days. Bridget and I dropped them off at the GW store in Ridgeland then when to the grocery store. Grilled a T-Bone steak that Bridget and I split along with green beans and baked potato. Relax'in in the recliner. I tend to forget things and don't remember if I mentioned that I have ordered the 17.5" tires and wheels for Suite Ram, they should be in first of next week. See you in chat.

Posting from the mall. Working the 11-7 shift. Last night we watched two movies at the FD, got in bed just before midnight, usually in bed by 10:15. Between midnight and 6am we had 3 calls (2:30, 3:45 and 5:45) timed perfectly as to prevent a good night sleep. Hope to make chat after 7p.

Cleaning

Got off from the FD heading to the house for breakfast by Bridget. Cheese omelet and bacon with orange juice. After breakfast I headed down to my mom's house in Crystal Springs, MS to meet the carpet cleaners. I got home about 12:30 and Bridget made sandwiches for lunch. It is nice having her at home, she feeds me well. She is still working on cleaning out closets and separating items for Goodwill, garage sale, throw away and take with us. After lunch I took a nap. Working at the mall from 3-11 today and tomorrow so I won't make chat. Temps down to 16 degrees tonight with a high of 36 tomorrow. Trying to stay warm.

Fire Trucks

Quiet at the FD, normal paperwork along with working on the specs for another ladder truck. Since 1995 I have been writing the specifications for the fire engines and ladder trucks the city has purchased. If this truck is purchased then that would mean that since 1995 I have writen specifications for approximately 1.85 million dollars worth of fire trucks for the city. I also assisted on the specs for both rescue trucks, another $170,000 worth of equipment.

We got our W-2's today which means tax time is right around the corner. I hate tax time.

It will be cold the rest of the week. Going into the teens the next few nights.

Who Has A BD Today

Happy Birthday Joe (speedy, speedhitch), RV-Dreams chatter extraordinaire , wishing you a great day.

We had an early morning call (3:30am) for an HVAC system that had smoke coming out of it at a local business. It is hard for me to go back to sleep after I have been up that early in the morning, I just lay I bed asking myself why don't you go back to sleep. Didn't happen so from 11-2:30 I took a nap. My brother Bill called and will be coming into town tomorrow to pick up 2 cars to take back to Arkansas and needed my air compressor so I will take it to the mall with me in the morning. Going to get cold, down into the lower 20's and upper teens this week so I unhooked the water from Suite Ram this afternoon and covered the outside faucets. I set the furnace in Suite Ram to 42 so it won't freeze. Hope to make chat for speedy's BD party.

RV-Dreamers Missed Again

It was the mall today 7-3 ended up getting off at 3:15. At the house I waited on a guy for Amsoil products. He got lost but finally made it and left about 4:30. We are grilling burgers before going to the movies to see Gran Torino with Annie and Terry at 6:45. I was trying to get over to meet Glenn and Sylvia, they are at Timberlake Campground, but that doesn't look like it is going to happen. That makes three RV-Dreamers in our area that I didn't find out about until it was too late. Looks like we will have to meet them when we go full timing. See you in chat later tonight.

What A Day

We were toned out to an apartment fire at 6:30ish this morning, we had heavy fire on arrival from the second floor. The ceiling collapsed on the crew inside and two of the three were transported by ambulance for burns. We eventually got the fire out and after getting off I went to the ER to check on the guys (Marc and Sean). Marc got the worst of it but both ended up going to the burn clinic in Brandon from the ER. Sean had first and second burns on his ears and shoulder and Marc had first and second degree burns on his ears, neck, shoulder, right arm and part of his back. Sean was released from the burn clinic just after lunch with outpatient care. Marc was released after 4:45pm after a 3pm surgery to remove the burned skin and a new grafting treatment. They will both be off a minimum of two weeks. We left the burn clinic heading home and ended up eating supper with Nathan and Kay and their daughter and her BF at a Mexican restaurant in Madison then over to Bob and Marcy's to check their computer for a virus, non found. We were suppose to go to see Gran Torino tonight but will go tomorrow night with Annie and Terry.

Hi Dee

Up at 6, at the mall at 6:35 for a 7-3 shift. The boss did make it in today, he has been sick and is on meds. Seems this stuff has been going around with the up and down temps. Well, yesterday it rained but today was all sunshine, temps made it up into the lower 60's. Normal day today with the usual clean up and maintenance projects. I was happy to see 3pm as I was tired and when I got home I took a nap. I don't much care for the working til 11p then back by 7a shifts but every now and then they occur. I got up a while ago when Bridget said supper was ready. Dee has just gotten online, she is a fellow chatter from NC. I am usually in the chat room later in the evening. It for now!

SIL Day

We got up late again, close to 9 when Bridget's sister Annie called to say she would be over at 10:30. We got up and had breakfast and shortly after Annie arrived. The three of us went to Petsmart and then to Barnes and Noble, Bridget and Annie had gift cards that were burning holes in their purses. After this we went to a fairly new restaurant in Ridgeland called Crabs. Bridget and I split a shrimp po-boy and Annie had a tilapia po-boy, both were good. Pretty much piddled the rest of the day, cleaned out the refrigerator and some other stuff. That's it for today.

Bridget woke up and said "It's lunchtime", I said what, she said it's 12 o'clock. I can't believe we slept half the day but we were both tired. We have been in our chairs and recliners all day watching TV. That sums up our day.

Up at 6, cereal and coffee for breakfast, read blogs, got mom up at 7 and at 8:15 we were heading up to Grenada to meet up with my sister with mom. When we got back to the house we went to Hamil's for lunch, Harold and Sandie ate there last time they came up and it is one of two restaurants they like to eat at when here. They are going back to Jacksonville tomorrow morning, they hope to be on the road by 6am with a 10-12 hour drive. I never thought I would ever say this but I am tired of eating, we have been eating nonstop since Christmas. College football and domino's this afternoon, Bridget's mom and dad (Bob and Marcy) will be over later, they are bringing their larger set of domino's for the six of us to play.
