See You Later

Joe called yesterday evening after there supper with the folks Sherri works with to see if a rematch was still on. It was so they came over to our house using his Garmin. Arrived about 8pm and we played to 10:15ish. Again we had a great time with Joe and Sherri. Marcy made some banana pudding and brought it with her and we also had ice cream cake as our "break" food. It was about 10:30 by the time they left as they were getting up early to head back to Texas to their home on wheels. Look forward to meeting up again with them "Somewhere in Time".

Painter Is Done

Up early this morning to finish hauling junk out of the garage to the street for the garbage men to pick up. After cleaning the garage out Ken showed up, finished the kitchen and started in the garage. Ken finished painting this afternoon a little after 3p. We will be meeting with the Realtor on Tuesday. I did make a trip to the Flying J to fill the propane tank, went in to pay about the time Bridget called to see if I was ready to meet them at the IHOP on I-55, turns out my wallet was at the house so they brought it to me and we ate at the Flying J restaurant. About 4pm the wind and rain showed up in full force. I have a sky light leaking that Russell (FD) is working on, he thinks he has it fixed. We were planning on going out to Annie's but she doesn't have power. Dominoes in store for tonight at our house, Joe and Sherri may show up for a rematch.

RV-Dreamers

Arrived home from the FD, started putting things back in place in the master bedroom, hanging blinds and curtains, mounting electrical and switch plates. Major project was cleaning out the garage, hope the garbage man can load everything in the truck. I called Joe a little after 3, he called Sherri and called me back saying she was getting off. We stopped by the hotel and picked them up just after 4 heading to Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Brandon, in a rain storm. I must say we (Bridget and I, Harold and Sandie and Joe and Sherri) had a great time, I haven't laughed that hard in a while, Joe is quite a character and fun to be around. We left the restaurant, in a rain storm, heading to Bob and Marcy's around 6:30 for a game of dominoes. Again, more laughter and fun had by all. Sherri had to work tomorrow so we called it a night at 10. When we got back to the house Harold and I hauled junk to the street for trash pickup tomorrow. Thanks Joe and Sherri for a great evening.

Usual FD Day

FD day, Sandie and Bridget made breakfast of eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, grands biscuits, orange juice and coffee. What a way to start the day. Normal medical calls and one apartment fire so far this shift. A new bejeweled game has started so maybe I will be in the lead until Linda or Deb get on here. Bridget started off in the lead using the mouse pad, I don't see how she scores as high as she does without a mouse. Bridget, Harold and Sandie are at Bob and Marcy's playing domino's.

Wonderful Day

Ken arrived this morning to start on the master bedroom. Trim and walls are done, he will be back in the morning to start on the kitchen cabinets. Rained most of the day, we did make a road trip to Brandon to the Bayou Classic Store. Harold has a peanut selling business in Jacksonville and he bought 2 twenty quart pots with strainers. This afternoon we had supper with my mom, aunt Martha and my sister at Frisco Deli. The dishwasher at moms is leaking and messed he floor up so we stopped by Home Depot and ordered some linoleum. The floor guy will install it when it comes in. I was reading Joe's blog Somewhere in Time and saw that he would be in our area Tuesday-Thursday. I emailed him and we will try to get together while they are here. That's it for now.

There Here

Home from the FD, Harold and Sandie were there, arrived about 12:30am. Blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Finished putting 1/4 round down in the master bedroom and closet, moved furniture around then headed to Walmart for groceries stopping off at Applebee's for lunch first. While at Applebee's it started raining. Rain continued until late evening. Bob and Marcy came over for supper of burgers, salads and beans then we played dominos until almost 9. Relaxing in the recliner.

No Sale

No van sale, his offer didn't meet my price. Today Ken started painting the master bedroom closet and I put down 1/4 round on the base in the living room and halls. Lynn called to see if I could work this afternoon so I went in at 3 and worked til 10 at the mall. I did wake up at 4:30 this morning so I had a nap after lunch.

Cross Your Fingers

The rain has ended and Russell will be over in the morning when we get off from the FD to hopefully fix the leak. Counting myself, he will be the forth person to try to stop the leak. Quiet FD day, the guy just left the station with the van to take home for his wife to test drive so I should know if it is sold when he brings it back later this afternoon (fingers crossed). Bridget said Ken has finished the other bedroom, the house still looks like a bomb went off. Bridget and I had lunch with Robert and Kelsey at McB's. They went over to the house when they left McB's to get stuff out of the garage and lay claims to some of our "stuff". Some of it will have to stay in the house until it is sold to give it the "lived in" feel. The Realtor sent me an email today checking on the progress of the repairs. We had originally told him we would like to have it on the market by the end on July. It is looking more like the first week of August as my brother and SIL will be up from Florida visiting July 26-August 1. Ken will still be painting during that week so we will have a house full. Monday we will be going down to Crystal Springs to visit with my mom and have a cook out there. Left to paint is the master bedroom, master closet, garage, storage room, breakfast area and kitchen. That's it for now.

Another Busy Day

We stayed it the trailer last night, Bridget said the paint smell was giving her a headache. Got up at 7:30 and Ken was here shortly after. He started in the living room and almost finished today. Box ceiling, crown, chair rail, base trim, door, window and walls. He just lacks the mantle and will get that in the morning then start on the other spare bedroom. It will get the ceiling, crown base, 2 doors and walls. Also today Bridget went with me to get my hair cut and got hers cut too. The city had a blood drive this morning so I went up about 9:30 and got out at 11:30. Carpet cleaners showed up a little after 1 and cleaned the trailer and back bedroom. One of the FF's is coming over this evening to see if he can stop the skylight leak. I have to met the guy again for the van, his wife wants to look at it, wish me luck. About it for today.

Full Day

As I was getting home from the FD, I had a call on the van and met the guy down the street, he looked it over and drove it, says he likes it but will have to talk to his wife first. After breakfast I took Bridget to her doctor's appointment. While she was there I went to Lowes to get some A/C filters for the house, they had 1 but would have to order the other at $58 for the case, one case minimum. I passed on the order and checked the local hardware store and they had 5 in stock. Ken has the 2 hallways done and will start in the living room tomorrow. The carpet cleaner is coming tomorrow as well and will clean the bedroom and the trailer. By lubing the slide rails with a spray I managed to get grease on the trailer carpet, they said they could get it out. With all the painting going on the inside of the house looks like it has been blown up. Furniture and beds and tables and yada yada yada are everywhere. Bridget and Annie are at the garden store getting plants for the outside. Annie is in charge of the plants. That's it for the day.

Gentlemen, Start Your Paint Brushes

Long day, started out this morning getting the dining room and entry ready for Ken. He showed up about 10:30 and started prepping and painting. He is retired FD and works Monday thru Thursday, 8:30-4. Friday is his fishing day. He finished the dining room and entry way. Just had crown, chair rail, base and windows in the dining room and crown, base and the front door in the entry. Tomorrow he will start in the spare bedrooms. Terminix showed up and did the termite inspection, no termites. We have had a contract for about 4 years when we found termites. Bridget and I went to lunch at the Parker House in Ridgeland, she said the smell of the paint was getting to her. More rearranging then off to the mall for a 3-11 shift. Normal mall activities.

Waiting

Woke up this morning to pouring down rain, Dawg rode his motorcycle to work yesterday and had to drive down to Crystal Springs this morning so I loaned him my van and I used Kipp's truck to get home. Bridget was at the hospital with Mary and I had to go over and get a key to the house. Stopped by Lowes to pick up some grout supplies. Got home and had a certified letter from Terminix for an inside house inspection. I set up an appointment for 2-4pm and waited. At 4:30 I called and they said it was not in the computer and made a 11-1p appointment for tomorrow. Painter came by and picked up a cabinet door to match the paint, he will start painting tomorrow. Bridget has been doing a great job cleaning out the rooms, there is a lot of stuff in here. Goodwill run tomorrow. Looks like tomorrow will be a busy day as I am also scheduled for the 3p-11p mall shift.

Day With Friends

Bridget picked me up from the FD at 7am as the van is being used by a co-workers son (He is looking at buying a van). Got home, hooked up to the trailer and we were off by 8 to Martin Lake Resort in Biloxi, MS. We arrived just before 11 and set up. We spent the day with Marty (Bridget's friend and former co-worker from the City of Jackson) and Teeter (Marty's son), she had lunch ready when we arrived. Bridget and Marty chatted about old times and caught up on recent news. I am not sure but I think I took a nap. Teeter arrived shortly after 4 and we headed out to The Shed at almost 5 for an early dinner. The Shed was featured on Diners, Drive-Inns and Dives. The food was great. We will meet Marty for Breakfast at Denny's.

John in Ocala

John flew to Ocala, Florida today to attend a conference regarding the new fire truck that is to be built. He will be flying back tomorrow. Miss you John. Hurry back home. Cooler weather visited us today.... a whopping 84 degrees; but it was nice and we enjoyed it. My cousin's husband who underwent a quadruple by-pass is doing well and is expected to go home in a day or two. Thanks so much for all the prayers. My sister Annie and I went to see the movie Public Enemies tonight as she is an avid Johnny Depp fan. It was full of shooting action and bank robberies. Depp played his part well.

Prayer Request

Started out at the mall working 8-3, usual day. Bridget's cousin Teri's husband was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday. He thought he had indigestion and after three days of antacids and continuing indigestion he went to the after hours clinic where they promptly sent him for a stress test. After a few minutes on the treadmill, the test had to be stopped because he could not breathe. On Wednesday the doctor performed a heart cath which indicated all arteries were 90% blocked. The doctors said they had never seen such extensive blockage on someone so young. He is only 39 years old. Today he underwent a quadruple by-pass and is doing well. The doctors also found evidence that he had had a heart attack some time in the past. Please pray for a speedy recovery.
