Bob's Birthday Package.

It has been quite a while since our last post.  We have been busy here at the refuge.  John celebrated his 54th birthday on June 13th.

Happy Birthday John.  I love you.

My dad (Bob) celebrated his 85th birthday on June 16th.  Back in May John helped me plan a birthday surprise for my dad.  He bought me airline tickets to fly to Mississippi as a birthday gift to my dad.  I flew out on June 11th.   My sister and her husband picked me up at the airport.  They had purchased a large bow and a card for me to wear when I arrived at Dad's.  The day before I flew out, I called dad and told him to be expecting his birthday package from UPS and that it should be delivered some time Saturday.  He wasn't suspicious because I usually mail him a gift and let him know about when to expect it.  He waited at home all day and UPS did not deliver anything.  When I arrived at his house my sister went in first and told him that I must have put her address on the package by mistake because it had been delivered to her house.  My brother-in-law followed her in and acted like he forgot the package in the car.  When he stepped back outside on the porch that was my cue to come to the door. Needless to say, he was very surprised and a little shocked to see me.  He had a good laugh out of it.

This is a collage of pictures from the video my sister took.  Some of the pictures are a little blurry.  I am so glad I got to be there for his birthday.  I will never forget how surprised and happy he was.  Thank you John for arranging this for me.

While I was in MS I got to see the grandbabies.  I facetimed John so he could visit with them.  They have really grown.

John had a visitor while I was gone.

This bear walked right past our motorhome and through the neighbor's RV site.  I guess he was just passing through.

I flew back to New Jersey on June 18th.  The airports were very busy.  Lots of people are vacationing.

When I got to the Charlotte, NC airport we boarded on time but sat for a while.  We had to wait in line to take off.

Our time here is growing short.  We leave here on July 9th to make our way to the Escapees Rally in Essex Junction, Vermont.   It will be here before we know it.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

Remembering Sharon Tyson.

We received sad news this morining.  Our friend, fellow RVer and parking team member, Sharon Tyson passed away.  Recently, she had been receiving treatments for leukemia but things declined quickly.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Fran and their family.

A tribute to Sharon.  The parking team will miss her bright smile and great spirit.  She loved greeting people at the front gate when they arrived at Escapades.

We have gotten settled into our weekly routine and now have more neighbors.  All four RV pads are full.  It sort of looks like an RV park.  The sites here are very nice ones with full hookups and....my favorite thing .....50 AMP!

Last Tuesday I worked with John on a project and was able to snap a few pictures.

I love to visit the swans and their babies.

Earlier this week John got to go on another bear tagging.  This time it was a large male bear between 550 to 600 pounds.  Now that's a big boy.
The man in this photo is the one who administers the tranqulizer.

Look at the size of that bear's head.

Awe, what a nice pillow.

At this bear tagging, a reversal drug as used to make sure the bear was alert enough to wonder back off into the woods safely.  John said it was awesome to watch.  Sorry I missed that one.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.
