Our time here is coming to a close. This weekend will be our last working weekend here. This afternoon John and I attend the ice cream social honoring the volunteers. While there we met our replacements, Joy and Steve. They will be working with us tomorrow so they can see first hand what their duties will be.
Before dark we drove through the park to see what wildlife was out. I still haven’t been able to get a picture of a fox squirrel.
As you can tell by the photos, the wildlife consisted of deer and rabbits.
We drove around to the beach area to see if any of the rain water was standing.
Mostly sand and black dirt. There is a little water in spots here and there.
Sadly, it could rain all summer and it probably would be enough.
Laugh everyday. Happy trails. Stay safe.
Time to go, already? You just got there. We're leaving Chicago area on June 13th headed west. We're both really excited to see what all the hoopla is out that way.
ReplyDeleteHope we can meet up somewhere along the line.
Ya gotta love a park who give their volunteers ice cream as a reward...!!
