This is our last day at the East Canyon Resort. We drove to Salt Lake City to meet up with Mike and Leslie one more time before we leave. In Salt Lake there is a Natural History Museum of Utah that Mike and Leslie had visited when it first opened a while back. They thought we would enjoy it so off we went. A very unique place with nicely displayed exhibits. There is something there for everyone. My favorite exhibit was Nature Unleashed – Inside Natural Disasters. A whole room was dedicated to all types of natural disasters. Lots of pictures from hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and earthquakes.

A full wall of Native American artifacts that can be viewed from both sides.

The museum had so many interesting exhibits it was hard to choose what to take pictures of. It was around 5:00 p.m. when we left the museum. We were all hungry so we were in search of food. LOL On our way into town John had noticed a diner called Ruth’s Diner so we decided to try it out. Ruth’s Diner is located in Emigration Canyon and is the second oldest operating restaurant in Utah. The food and service were both awesome. If you are in the area this is definitely the place to eat.
I had the Southern Fried Chicken sandwich with pasta salad. So yummy.
John’s hamburger and onion rings.
Mike and Leslie’s veggie sandwich.
Everyone enjoyed the food. Very tasty. After sitting and talking for a while John decided to try a dessert. He ordered the Raspberry Crème Brulee. Of course he let all of us taste it. It was delicious.

On the way out of the diner John couldn’t resist sitting in the old phone booth. Notice there is no phone. LOL

We talked for a few minutes more in the parking lot and said our “see ya laters”, which is always sad. A big thank you to Mike and Leslie for being our tour guides while we were here in Utah. Hopefully we will see them down the road real soon.
Tomorrow we will travel on to Green River, WY.
Laugh everyday. Happy trails. Stay safe.
What with the hype of the new movie "Man of Steel", I half expected John to come out in his cape!! LOVE the museum..Native American is my thing, as you know.
