No tire and a broken arm.

TUESDAY:

This morning one of our guests named Lori left to travel on to her next destination.  We met her and her daughter a few days ago when they checked in.  So glad we had the opportunity to meet her.  A little while after she left we were making rounds through the park again and found her thank you notes to us.  Thank you Lori.  We wish you and your daughter safe travels.

After finishing our chores, I decided to try out a new banana muffin recipe I found online.  I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually good.  I have tried several online recipies lately that people were raving about and after trying them.... I really didn't see why.  I guess it all comes down to taste.

This is the picture from the link.  I made them without the glaze and they were yummy.

Before dinner we were outside talking to some RVers when we heard and awful sound.....metal on ashpalt.  John looked up the hill and noticed a truck pulling a bumper pull camper missing a tire on it. The man pulled up to our camp host site and John asked him if he knew he was missing a tire. He said no and jumped out to take a look.  He hadn't noticed anything while traveling down the road.   Sure hope he doesn't have costly repairs to make.

I heard from our friend Dick tonight.  He and Skeeter made it to his next camp host assignment safe and sound.  We sure miss them.

WEDNESDAY:

Still enjoying warm temperatures and sunny skies.  I am liking that.   We were about to go on rounds this morning when a firefighter, who has been here a few days, stopped by and needed John's help.  He had problems with his hitch.  John took his tools down and was glad he could help.

The rest of the day was uneventful until around 6:30 p.m.  We were outside and a vehicle pulled up asking where to find the nearest hospital.  Their two year old little girl was playing and fell.  She was crying and in pain so they wanted to have her checked out.

A little while later, while going over to check the ladies restroom for the night, I saw them returning to their camp site so I stopped to check on the little girl. The doctor said the arm was broken so they splinted it.  They will be leaving for Macon tomorrow to see a surgeon.  I know John can relate to how she is feeling.  We wish her well.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

  1. I feel bad for that little girl and her parents . . . it's no fun to have an injury on vacation, but glad it wasn't another mishap for you guys!

  6. reminds me of our son who, when he was 3 y/o, broke his collar bone when he fell off some playground equipment when we were camping at a State Park. Fourteen years later we were all hiking that same State Park and he jumped off a rock on the trail and broke his ankle. Needless to say we stay away from the park. LOL

ps: he was a lot easier to carry out of the woods when he was 3 y/o! LOL
