Snow and Ice in Mississippi

Woke up to 25 degrees, snow and ice.  Oh no.  You know what that means.  The drive to work will be crazy and long.

This is all the snow we had in the campground this morning when I left to go to work.

This is the second of five wrecks I passed on the way downtown.

O

It took me over an hour to get to work.  John worked at the mall until 7 tonight.  I can't imagine anyone wanting to go shopping in these temperatures.  I will be so glad when this cold nasty weather is gone.  Tonight the low is supposed to be 18. Brrrrrrr!

I think the only person who really enjoyed today's weather was Ava.
Ava all bundled up and ready to go out.

Too cold in Mississippi

Just when I thought the worst of the cold weather was gone.....it comes back.  Oh no no no!!! I am not liking that.  Tonight it is supposed to drop to a very cold 18 degrees.  I think it is time to hibernate.

Fred chilling out on the couch.  He doesn't like the cold mornings when I take him out.

John has been busy with the RV and truck this week.  I locked the deadbolt the other night.  The latch moved but the door didn't lock.  John pulled the door handle out and took it apart.  Two interior screws had backed out causing the latch lever to fall out.  He put it back together and it works great. The other day he had a doctors appointment and someone came in and told him the parking lights were on.  He assumed it was part of the security locking system but when he returned 40 minutes later the parking lights were still on.  He ended up pulling 2 fuses to get the lights to turn off.  He ended up having to take it to the shop to have the body control module replaced and the computer and keys reprogramed.  Next week we have an appointment to get the truck bed lowered.  Hopefully when these things are completed the truck will be travel ready.  I am crossing my fingers, toes and eyes on this one.

January is almost over.  Next month our second baby will arrive.  Kelsey had another sonogram today and all is well.   Can't wait to meet the new grandbaby.

Happy Birthday to Kelsey.

Today our daughter-in-law Kelsey is celebrating her birthday.

Happy Birthday Kelsey.  We love you.

One of my facebook friends posted a picture of her son holding a delicious looking hamburger the other night.  They were dining at a restaurant called The Froghead Grill in Clinton, MS which is about 15 miles from here.  Close enough to check it out.  My dad (Bob) loves to try burgers at new places so tonight we all went to The Froghead Grill.  The service and the food were both great.

As usual I forgot to take a picture of the food.  I decided to try the grilled shrimp platter instead of a burger.  Very tasty.  They also have homemade desserts at The Froghead but we were all too full to order any.

Dinner with Doug and Leslie

Friday night John and I drove down to Florence, MS to meet friends Doug and Leslie at Jerry's Catfish House for dinner.  As usual, on a Friday night, Jerry's was packed with a line forming out the front door.  Luckily, Doug and Leslie were already in line so we didn't have to wait very long.

We had a nice visit.  I think we were the last customers to leave.  They locked the door when we left. LOL

Lunch with Roger and Charlotte

Our day started with mild temperatures in the upper 50s and sunny skies. It is hard to believe that the temperature will be 19 later on tonight.  I am REALLY NOT liking that.

We drove down to Mendenhall, MS to meet up with our friends and fellow RVers Roger and Charlotte whom we met while workcamping in North Dokata this summer.  We ate at a place called Louise's right off Highway 49 in Mendenhall.   They had a buffet with all sorts of meats and vegetables and, of course, lots of desserts to chose from. It was very tasty.  We enjoyed our visit with Roger and Charlotte and hope to see them again down the road real soon.

While at Louise's former firefighter Chaston and his girlfriend Stephanie stopped by our table to say hello.  It was good to see Chaston as we haven't seen him since we were home last year.

On the way home it began raining and the temperatures started falling slowly.  I am not looking forward to the morning commute if the roads are icy.
