It was the second and last day of the Renaissance Fine Arts Festival. Started work at 9:30a and finished at 8p which makes for a long day. Yesterday was in the upper 80's and today made it in the 90's with full blast sunshine. Relaxing the rest of the night watching the race that we recorded.

Festival Weekend
We were busy at the mall all day getting ready for the Fine Arts Festival this weekend. I worked 7a-4p. We were scheduled to get off at 3p but still were not finished with what we were working on. When I got home the Realtor called and we will meet with him on Tuesday to see what all we need to do to get the house on the market. Terry welded the bracing for the hydraulic bed lift and I installed them when I got home, works great, thanks Terry.

Found
Did some work on the suite ram and will finish it tomorrow. We were called out on a SAR for an elderly lady that has been missing since Monday. Within one hour of arrival she was located by a worker at a business next to where she went missing. She was not injured other than being dehydrated. She was transported to the hospital for observation. At the mall we cleaned the management offices and did our trash run and lot cleanup. Eating supper now.

I Love Food
Normal FD day except this afternoon. E3 called in that they broke a fan belt, it was just a matter of moving the reserve engine over to then and calling the city shop to have a mechanic install a new belt. Found out the the idler pulley bracket was broke so he took it back to the shop and re-welded it. Still needs adjusting so they will drop it off in the morning (It was after 5:30). Bridget has come across something called "Eat Yourself Thin" and has us on it. We will see with my starting weight of 245. I have been running 245-250 for the past year or so. I would like to get down to around 200 or less.

Will The Rain End
It is still raining and more is expected. We did get a WalMart run in today to refill the cabinets with groceries. Planned on getting into the attic to clean it out but took a nap instead. We have the painter hired, he will start after July 4th and will take about two weeks. He was a FF at Ridgeland FD back when I started and has retired from the fire service. He works by himself and does a very professional job. We will put the house on the market after Ken finishes painting. Waiting for the Coca Cola 600 to start.

No Rain Til 2
Woke up this morning around 8:30 with a day full of outside projects. After breakfast I checked the weather on the computer and the rain would not be here until 2pm so I started on changing out the cab roof lights, removing the amber lights and replacing then with smoke LED lights. I removed the first one and the rains started, got all my stuff put up and headed inside. It rained pretty much all day off and on. I eventually changed all 5 lights out. The rest of the outdoor projects have been put off until another day. Bridget went to a local Mexican restaurant for lunch with Kay, Amy, and LeAnne. One of the painters showed up at 10:15 for an estimate. Still waiting on one more and the price from another one then we will be set to hire a painter for the inside.

Met Bridget and Robert for lunch at McB's and as we were finishing the TSC crew showed up. I'm working the 3-11 at the mall, the regular guy called in sick so Chaston will be coming in later.

Sick Day
Another day that 3 people called in sick at the FD. After readjusting the schedule and calling in overtime personnel all was well. One of the FF's, "Dawg" was looking at TT's last shift and I said he would have a TT by our next shift. He came in this morning saying they bought a 27' TT. The way he was looking at them last shift I knew that was coming. We are grilling burgers tonight for supper.

Aunt Martha
Mom
We just got back home from seeing my mom. Her doctor's visit was this morning at 9:30. The doctor told us that her white blood cell count was down almost to the normal range and that her lymph nodes were fine and she was to come back in 3 months instead of 1 month. She is also on thyroid medication and has more energy. She was in good spirits. Aunt Martha was not feeling well with a kidney infection.
We had to pick Fred up from the doggie daycare before 6 which we did, they are closed tomorrow.

Trip North
Today was a normal 7-3 at the mall with the exception of a high end cleaning of the bathrooms, scrubbing the walls and pressure washing, they are clean.
This is an early post for today as we are about to leave for Byhalia, MS to see my mom. She has a doctors appointment in the morning and we want to be there to meet with the doctor and my sister to see what steps are next. We will be stopping in Como for supper at the Como Steakhouse on the way up.

Mack and Brenda's
Today we had planned to drive down to Sumrall, MS to visit with friends Mack and Brenda Strider. I got a call this morning from Mack saying we will need to postpone the gathering. Brenda's mother was hospitalized yesterday with heart problems. She will be released tomorrow, they are checking her pacemaker and meds. Our prayers go out to Mack and Brenda and we will see you soon. It rained most of the day, I did manage to get in a Walmart trip and picked up stuff for supper. Grilled out hamburgers with onion rings after the rain. Started watching the pre race and ended up taking a nap, the All Star race is about to start.

Habitat
We have been getting ready for THIS at the mall. We are also having dirt work done at on of the buildings to help with water drainage. Basically today was cleaning and sprucing up the mall. When I got home I met with one of the painter's to get a price to repaint the inside of the house. Another painter is coming on Thursday. After the painting the house will be ready to go on the market. If we sell the house before October I will be retiring in January, if not I will retire 3 months after the closing of the house. PERS requests 3 months notice for retirement. Bridget cooked chicken, stuffed squash and rice pilaf for supper last night and we had leftovers tonight, yes C square and Kevin, there were leftovers.

Last Water Day
Another full day at the mall, they have hired a water guy to water the potted plants around the mall and he starts tomorrow. We can take that off our list of things to do, generally takes 4-6 hours to do. Shipped out some stuff I sold on the Internet. Surfing the web and reading blogs.

A Full Day
Bought the tag for suite ram on my way home from the FD. Also got my drivers license renewed as it was due by June 13th. We had lunch with the TSC gang at McB's. Amy, Kay, Bo and Frank joined Bridget and I. After all that I took pictures of stuff to sell on the Internet then to the mall, working 3-11 tonight and 7-3 tomorrow. I also called two painters for estimates on the inside paint job, waiting to hear back from one and meeting the other one tomorrow after 3p. Normal shift at the mall so far.

Diesel Fuel
Well we had a call that lasted most of the day. An 18 wheeler that was backing up on a side street hit a post with his full 125 gallon diesel tank which ruptured. We ended up diking the spill and called in DEQ. When they arrived they had their cleanup crew pump the remaining fuel from the tank. Other then that it has been quiet.

Happy Mother's Day
I got off a little after midnight last night and was up at 8:30 this morning. Bridget made bacon and waffles for breakfast. We got ready and went over to her parents house and from there I went to the mall for the 11-7 shift. Today was a busy day. I called my mom to wish her a happy mother's day. We will be going up next Monday for her doctor's appointment Tuesday morning.

Trip To Bob's
Pancakes and bacon for breakfast with coffee, Bridget had tea. She is almost back up to speed, she went shopping with Annie today so shouldn't be too much longer. She still has a horrible sounding cough. Took our old printer, fax, and copier over to Bob's and loaded the software for it, we now have a wireless all-in-one. From there I went to the mall to work 3-11 shift. On supper break now.

Worked On Day Off
Today was a scheduled day off but I was called in at the mall to work a 7-3 shift, one of the guys son had surgery. We had a busy day between the rain showers and winds. After arriving home I took a nap, last night at the FD we had a late night call. After my nap I sprayed the weeds on the fence line and driveway cracks.

Vote Today
We have had an average FD day with the exception of it being a local election day and the FD is a polling location. I will be glad when 7pm rolls around. We are grilling up sausage dogs for supper with mac and cheese. I like both of these items. Bridget is getting better and said she was coming up to the FD this afternoon for a visit.

Busy 7-3 Shift
I worked the 7-3 shift and we were busier then normal at the mall today. We have some special events coming up and were doing extra preparation for them. We accomplished all but about 2 items on our things to do list, the 3-11 shift should be able to finish everything if not it will be completed in the morning. Bridget is still not back up to par, she has been coughing all night and most of today. Hopefully in the next few days she will be making a turn for the better. She is still taking her prescribed meds.

Exhausted
Finished up the exhaust brake this morning, all I had left was the electrical connection on the Engine Control Module. Cleaned up my mess. The exhaust brake works great. With that complete and me having to do all that work with the tires and batteries and all I ended up working muscles I didn't know I had and was very exhausted so I made an appointment at Massage Plus in Flowood, well worth it. Working at the mall 3-11 and FD tomorrow. Sunday will be a fun day as Bridget and I will be meeting up with Mark, Dortha, Jim and Ellie in Tunica. Paula Deen has a restaurant there and it is great. Plus there is other stuff to do.
