Moving on to Sublette, IL.
Mike and John.
John pulled into a rest area around noon so we could take a break and have some lunch. While we were there we noticed several Indiana State Trooper Cars parked around an 18 Wheeler with an extra wide load. That looked strange. A few miles down the interstate the troopers (2 in front and 2 in back) along with 3 pilot cars and the 18 wheeler came around us. We couldn’t tell what they were hauling. That is the first time I have ever seen police escorting and 18 wheeler with a wide load. Maybe it is an Indiana State Law. Anyway, I couldn’t resist taking a picture of it.
We arrived in Sublette, IL around 2:00 p.m. and got settled in. I am happy to say we have 50 AMP/FHU. Yeah. That makes me happy. LOL

Last day in Pleasant Lake, MI.
Today was our last day in Pleasant Lake, MI with our friends Mike and Leslie. We got together for dinner tonight. Mike grilled some salmon and Leslie and I provided the sides. It was delicious.
Mike also prepared a fresh fruit salad. It was yummy.

Clean up day.
Tonight Mike grilled steaks for dinner. Leslie and I prepared sides and we all enjoyed a nice meal outside.
Steak, Caesar salad, green beans, and homemade rice pilaf.
Our time here is coming to a close. We will be leaving Thursday and heading to Illinois to visit with blog followers Dennis and Donna before travelling on to the Escapees rally in Missouri.
We have been watching the weather channel to see what hurricane Isaac is doing. It is kind of creepy that it is following almost the same path that Katrina did back in 2005.

Tractor quits on black tank pump out day.
Today was black tank pump out day at the park. We were up waiting for our turn when Mike came over and told John the tractor quit down the road. The work camper said it sounded like it ran out of fuel. John and Mike went to check on it and found it had 3/4 tank of diesel. The dates on the oil and fuel filter was 6/09. The work camper called the owner who was on his way down with a new fuel filter. Since the tractor is used to carry the honey wagon around the owner brought his four-wheeler around to finished the job. While they were pumping the tanks John changed the fuel filter, bled the fuel system and injectors and got the tractor running by the time they were ready to take a break. It took about twenty to thirty minutes. The owner thanked the men for changing the filter out which allowed him to complete his black tank pump out.
While the men were dealing with the tractor issue Leslie and I were busy picking out vegetables. One of the work campers shares vegetable he gets from his daughter’s garden with everyone at the park and this morning he came around with some nice things.
My stash.

We are truly going to miss all these nice free vegetables when we leave here.

Rice, squash, fruit salad and roasted chicken with comeback sauce.
Of course the night would not be complete without playing a card game or two. We played a round of 10 Penny and a round of Golf.

Tacos, Margaritas and Cards.
John and I.
Leslie, Mike, Joe, Marcia and John.
Marcia, John, Leslie, Mike and Joe.
After our delicious taco dinner we started playing a around of golf. The wind wasn’t blowing so we were able to play cards outside again tonight. Pretty soon the sun started to set so we had to move the table and put some lights up to finish the game. I got a few nice sun set pictures.
Marcia and Joe will be leaving tomorrow for their next destination. We will see them again in about two weeks. We have enjoyed visiting with them and wish them safe travels.

Marcia and Joe have arrived.
Fellow RVers Marcia and Joe arrived in Pleasant Lake this afternoon. After getting all settled in they joined Mike, Leslie, John and I for dinner outside. We are still enjoying nice temperatures so we take advantage of it and eat outside whenever possible. John cooked a pork butt overnight in the slow cooker so we had pulled pork sandwiches, corn and fresh green beans. Since the weather was nice and and the wind wasn’t blowing we all gathered around the picnic table for a card game of golf. Marcia and Joe patiently taught us the game. We are still catching on and are enjoying it.

Leslie, Joe and me.
I can’t believe it has almost been a year since we last saw Marcia and Joe. We are so glad they were able to spend a couple of days in our area before moving on to their next destination.

Still enjoying nice weather.
We are still enjoying cooler temperatures with lots of sunshine. This afternoon John and I rode over to Mason, MI to Meijer’s for a few groceries. I just love this store. Sure wish they had one back home in Mississippi. Today they had my favorite red peppers 10 for $10.00. Plus if you bought 10 you got an 11th free. I was all over that. I will be chopping peppers to put in the freezer tomorrow. The last time I found a deal like this was in Jackson, Georgia back in March. Yeah!! It doesn’t take much to make me happy. LOL
Tonight we joined Mike and Leslie outside for dinner. We combined food for a great meal. John grilled corn and carrots and Mike grilled beef patties. Leslie and I added more vegetables and we were all set.
This was my plate. Potatoes, squash-eggplant medley, carrots, corn, grilled beef patty with melted cheese and a slice of John’s beer bread. Delicious.
Fred sat at the end of the table watching and listening to us. Of course he got a few snacks at the end of the meal so he was happy.
Here he is licking his chops. LOL
He is a happy dog.
After dinner we went inside and played a round of Spinner and then a round of 10 Penny. I won the round of Spinner and John won the round of 10 Penny. You know we will be having a rematch.

Cool weather
We have had cool weather for the past two days. Yesterday and today started out in the 50’s then warmed up by the afternoon, high 70’s to low 80’s. It has been nice.
Yesterday we drove into the town of Chelsea and stopped in at an RV dealership with Mike and Leslie to look at a few new units. On our way out of town we decided to stop for ice cream at a local spot called Zou Zou’s. It has been a while since we had ice cream and it was so good. Our next stop was the organic vegetable farm. We have really enjoyed the produce we have gotten there and I know we will miss it when we leave this area.
Last night’s dinner. Roasted chicken, fresh corn, fried eggplant and cucumber and tomato salad.
Today I re-arranged the cookware in the kitchen cabinets and John cleaned out the freightliner. Tonight we had dinner outside with Mike and Leslie. The weather was so nice it would be a shame to waste it. Our dinner tonight consisted of pork tenderloin, fruit salad, quinoa, eggplant and cucumber and tomato salad. I forgot to take a picture but it was very tasty.
It didn’t take long for the weather to turn cool so we went inside for some 10 Penny. Mike won both rounds. I know we will be having a rematch. LOL
