Warm weather has arrived!

Finally, the warm weather has arrived.  I am liking that.   We had 81 degrees and lots of sun. Yeah!!!!  Today was a very busy day.  We had the usual bath house cleanings as well as the fire pits and site repairs.  We had a couple of late arrivals to check in after office hours so we had to handle those.

Loading up fire wood.

We finished our chores around dinner time and decided to drive into Forsyth to eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant, Hong Kong Palace.
This place doesn't look like much but the food is very good.

It was still daylight when we got back to the park so I was able to get a few pictures.

Another building at the front of the park.  I don't think this building is being used at this time.

This week is spring break for some of the school districts here so the park will probably be full by this weekend.

And we have rain.

Woke up to the sound of rain.  It rained on and off all day long.  I took a few pictures of the park while making the rounds.   We had a few new campers pull in before dark, mostly overnighters.

More rain is in the forecast tomorrow.  Sure will be glad when it stops.

See Ya Later Dick and Skeeter

Up early to go to breakfast with Dick before he headed out.  We ate at a local restaurant called The Lunch Box.  A good choice.....very tasty food.  After breakfast we took Dick to get a few groceries then made our way back to the park but before we made it there we noticed some goats escaping from a hole in a fence.  The goats belong to a friend of Dick's so we stopped to see if we could corral them back under the fence.  John and Dick chased them back under the fence and found large limbs to block the hole.  Hopefully that kept them there until the owner made it back home.  Oh well, anything to prolong Dick's departure. LOL

Dick finally had everything road ready and stopped at the park office to say the final "see ya laters".  It was sad.

There they go.
Safe travels to you my friend.  You will be missed.
It sure has been lonely around the park this afternoon.

I talked to Dick tonight and he made it safely to his destination.

Dick's last day.

Today is Dick's last full day here.  Everyone met for a farewell lunch for Dick and Beth at noon.   Dick will be taking another volunteer position and Beth has accepted a position at another Georgia State Park.  Indian Springs State Park will certainly miss them.   Best of luck to Dick and Beth.

Tonight we enjoyed our last campfire with Dick before he leaves tomorrow.

We plan to have breakfast with Dick before he hits the road for his next destination.

$3.99 lunch and a .99 Margarita.

John went over to check the air conditioner coils and refrigerator coils on Dick's trailer.  Everything is road ready for Dick's new journey.  Tomorrow will be his last day here.  It will be a sad day for Indian Springs State Park.  We will miss his smiling face and great sense of humor.

By the time John and Dick were finished with the trailer it was lunch time. Dick suggested La Hacienda in Jackson so away we went.  La Hacienda has a $3.99 lunch menu.  This price includes your lunch and a drink.  The restaurant also has .99 margaritas on certain days.  Today was .99 margarita day.

Don't know how they make money off a $3.99 lunch but we sure did enjoy it.

The winds were high today and the temperature has fallen all afternoon.  It will be below freezing by morning.  I am so sick of this cold weather.  So ready for "real" spring weather.

Dick almost ready to go.

John and Dick were up early this morning and off to the parts store to get a few more things.  While John was repairing a light issue yesterday afternoon he noticed one of the bolts on the sway bar was missing and the other looked like it came out of a toolbox (not the correct bolt).  First up was to replace the rear sway bar bolts.  Dick had this done in FL not to long ago, sure wish he could get his money back on that deal.  After that was completed they hooked up Dick's trailer and took it for a road test after airing up the tires.  Since Dick would be traveling up to Maryland this year and the truck had the original shocks they stopped by the parts house and had to order the rear shocks.  They came in around 4:30.  From there, Dick took us out to dinner in Jackson.  After dinner John had the new shocks for Dick's truck installed.  Dick is almost ready to go.  Boo Hoo!  Tomorrow they will clean his A/C unit and refrigerator coils.  We really hate to see him go.

Dick treated us out to dinner at Jimmy's.
Dick had flounder.
John had hamburger steak.
I had shrimp.
Everything was yummy.  Thanks Dick.
When we got back to the campground we had our nightly campfire.  Former campground hosts PO and Debbie came by to visit with us.

Dinner at La Hacienda with friends.

Beautiful weather today.....sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70s. Yea!!!!    John and Dick worked on getting his truck and trailer travel ready.  Sadly, Dick will be leaving on the 27th to volunteer at another Georgia State Park.  It will be very lonely at Indian Springs State Park when he leaves.  We are so sad that our friend is leaving.

Tonight John and I were invited to dinner with Dick and friends Pat and David.  We decided to try out the New Mexican Restaurant La Hacienda. The food and service were good.  Thank you Pat and David for treating us to dinner.

Fred has a visitor.

Up early this morning to see Barb and Bob before they headed out for their next destination.  It was cold this morning....in the 30's.  You know I am not liking that. LOL

We wish them safe travels and look forward to seeing them at the Escapees Rally in May.

Later in the morning Dick came by to show us what our volunteer jobs consisted of.   After lunch John and I rode into Forsyth to make a Wal-mart run.  When we got back Fred had a visitor.   I heard a whining noise at the door and looked out to see Dick's dog Skeeter at the bottom of the steps.

Fred followed me to the door to look out.

Several campers arrived after the office was closed so we were busy at the camp host site until dinner time.  We invited one camper, who was traveling alone from FL back to KY, to come back and have dinner with us.  After dinner Dick and Skeeter came by and we all sat around the campfire enjoying the night.  Fred and Skeeter finally got some socializing time. LOL

Getting settled in.

After breakfast we rode up to the office and visited with Kim then rode through the park to check out the changes before heading back to our place.   I took a few pictures and will take some more this week.  The park has a stone pavillion with two rooms that are used for weddings, receptions and reunions.  There are enough tables and chairs to seat 130 people.

One of the rooms.  Both rooms have fire places in them.

Tonight we all gathered for a potluck dinner.  I gets quite chilly when the sun goes down so we had a nice campfire.

Tomorrow our friends Barb and Bob will be heading out to their next destination.  We really appreciate them filling in for us at Indian Springs until we were able to arrive.  Thanks Barb and Bob.  See you at the Escapees Rally in May.
