Detroit Lakes, Minnesota

Yesterday we turned in our time sheets, keys and work vehicle to the park manager at Fort Ransom and headed out to Detroit Lakes, MN.  We enjoyed working there.  Although, I don't really think we worked that hard.  We were out of the park and on the road by 10:30.

Our trip to Detroit Lakes was uneventful and we were all set up by 1:30.  While John was hooking up the sewer line he pulled something in his back.  Poor John.   He has a back brace somewhere in the RV.  I have searched every drawer and cabinet but cannot find it.  It is amazing how you can lose something in such a small living space.  He is doing better today.

Our site.  (We have 50 AMP....Yeah!!!!)

The high today was in the mid 70s and very windy.  That is ok with me as long as the temperatures don't take a dramatic plunge.

John cooked ribs, baked beans and slaw for dinner tonight.  It was very tasty.

A fellow blogger we follow "Travels with Emma" is volunteering at Tamarac NWR just North of us.  We are going to try to get together before she heads South.  We will be heading South Oct 1.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

  1. Hi Guys, Will you be coming through Hannibal, MO on your way south? It would be nice to see you again. Are you planning to do the Gate Guarding thing through the winter?
No matter what you do, stay safe and keep writing the blog.
    Hugs to both of you.

    1. Sorry I didn't respond. Just found out I have an awaiting moderation folder. Some comments going there for some reason and the rest go to my email where I can publish after reading.
We will be in Western MO (KC area) then down to Branson. Would love to see y'all again. We winter in Mississippi, Nov-Feb. We have not done the gate guard yet but have been volunteering in state parks and are looking into volunteering at national wildlife refuges. Hope to see y'all on the road somewhere.
      Hugs
