Lunch and a movie.

Warmer weather but now…..the rain has moved in.

This morning was weigh in day.  John and I have been eating healthier and are using tips from the book “Cinch”, written by a nutritionist.  John is down 3.5 pounds and I am down 1.5 pounds.  So far the recipes and suggested foods in this book are tasty and keep us from starving between meals.

John and I met Annie for lunch at Applebee’s.  We all chose salads.  Annie had the steak and potato salad, John had the chicken paradise salad and I had the grilled shrimp and spinach salad.  No dessert……we were good today. LOL

After lunch it was on to the movies.  Annie and I went to see The Fighter and John went to see The Dilemma.  The Fighter is a movie based on the true story of Micky Ward.  The language was a bit rough at times but the movie was entertaining.  When Annie and I got out of our movie John had just gotten out of his.  He said The Dilemma had the typical funny Vince Vaughn stuff in it.  He said he liked it.  I would probably like it because I am a Vince Vaughn fan.

We are thawing out!

Much warmer today.  I think it actually made it into the 50’s.  Now if it will just keep warming up I will be sooooooo happy.   We have begun to thaw out. LOL

John made the Wal-mart grocery run today.  I went by and picked Mom (Marcy) up and we went to Merle Norman to pick up a few things then back to her house to import pictures into her digital frame.

Not much else going on except a few new RVs arriving in the park.

095 Don’t we look sleepy. LOL

Tomorrow is lunch and movie day with my sister Annie.

Truck bed almost complete.

It was warmer today…..actually got up into the mid 40’s.  Fred got a longer walk today.  He was happy.

006

Fred says, “Ok, I got that walk in now…..cold weather go away and stay away.”

John received an update on the Freightliner’s new truck bed today.  It is complete with the exception of one piece.  That means John may be able to have it installed next week.  Can’t wait to see what it will look like.

Tonight we went over to Bob and Marcy’s and played three rounds of 10 Penny.  I won the first round, John the second and Bob the third.  The cards weren’t kind to Marcy tonight.  That’s ok I know she will get us all on the rematch.

Burgers for dinner.

Still cold here. LOL  But this afternoon it got up to 40 degrees! WOW!!!!

John got out this afternoon to take care of insurance stuff, get the mail, pick up medical records and purchase propane.  I stayed in and got on the Wii for 50 minutes.  Gee I feel thinner already. LOL

Tonight John and I decided we wanted a burger for dinner.  We have not had any red meat for about two weeks so this was a treat.  We went to Cool Water Cafe and Catering again.  Last week when we ate there we had the salad bar and noticed the burger menu.  The burgers were good but someone went into overkill on the seasoning.

After dinner we went over to Bob and Marcy’s for some 10 Penny.  We played three rounds and John won them all.  Oh well I guess it was his turn to win.  The last time we played he lost every round.

The weatherman said it will be 18 degrees tonight.  Ok, I am ready for the very cold weather to up and leave. LOL

Cold weather still here.

Another day of COLD weather.  I think the high today was 33.  Fred’s walks today were very short.  He doesn’t seem to like the cold weather any more than I do. LOL

John went out today to run a few errands.  Other than that it was a do nothing day…..except keeping warm.

Looking forward to warmer temperatures.

Cold temperatures still hanging around.

Weather still cold today.  It reached a high of 40 degrees. Yeah!!!  But I think the colder weather is returning.  The weatherman just said it will be below 20 tonight and will be that way for a couple more night. BRRRRRR!!!!!! I am not liking that.

We did not leave the campground today.  The ice has all melted so Fred did not mind going out.  He really did not like the ice. LOL   I got my Wii workout done then John and I played a few rounds of bowling on the Wii.

No snow……just ice.

Well, we did not get the snow that some people in the surrounding areas got.  However, we did get some ice.

001 Ice on the steps.  Had to be very careful when I took Fred out.

003Ice on the back of the Freightliner.

004Ice on the gray boy.

005Ice on the front of the Freightliner.

007 Another picture of the back of the Freightliner.

008Ice on the hitch.

Since the weather was still gloomy and cold today it was a lazy sort of day…….although I did get my Wii workout in. LOL  We settled in to watch a movie and Fred decided he wanted John’s attention.

Don’t know what John was saying but Fred was listening. LOL

We stayed in with the exception of Fred’s outings, John’s trip to to the grocery store and later to Bob and Marcy’s for some 10 Penny.

Tonight we played three games of 10 Penny.  Bob, Marcy and I each won a game.  The cards were not kind to John tonight.  That is strange because he usually has one of the lowest scores.  He will get us next time.

Nothing going on but the WEATHER!

Not much going on today but the weather.  It did not get above 35 degrees today.  When we got up it was sleeting and the steps were iced over.  Had to be real careful when I took Fred out.  He did not like the ice very much.  We did have a little bit of snow around lunch time but it did not last very long.

002

Ice forming on the Freightliner.

On the news tonight they showed footage of electric company trucks sitting on standby in case of large power outages.  I guess they are thinking it will get real bad.  Hopefully not.  They have already announced school closures for the surrounding areas.  If the icy weather continues everything will come to a complete shutdown.  That’s just how it is here in the South. LOL

Maybe I will be able to get some cool pictures in the morning.

Snow coming our way!

Up at 9:30 this morning.  Wow….that is real late for us. LOL

Annie and Marcy came by to pick me up before lunch to go shopping.  Our stops today included Kohl’s, Hobby Lobby, Belk and JC Penney.  Marcy was able to find a couple pair of her favorite jeans and Annie finally found the right purse.  While we were out we had lunch at Golden Corral.  They have an extensive buffet and there is something for every taste.

John stayed at home today and cleaned and did some laundry.  Thanks John.  I really appreciate you.

Tomorrow, around lunch time, the snow is forecasted to start.  I will believe it when I see it.  It does snow here every once in a while but usually not enough to stay very long.

Snow forecasted for our area.

Up around 9 this morning to nice warm weather again.  We are enjoying it while we can.

001 Ducks enjoying the nice weather this morning.  They were out when I took Fred on his morning walk.

007 Fred after his morning walk watching me cook.  He is waiting for me to drop something on the floor.

The weatherman has forecasted colder temperatures and even SNOW for this weekend.  I am sure the grocery stores will be crowded tomorrow.  People of MS do not usually have snow so when it is forecasted they go to the store and stock up on food.  Now, everyone who lives in the states that usually get snow will probably laugh at this.  It is funny but the people here treat snow as an event.  When it does snow and there is an accumulation…..everything shuts down.

John ran some errands today while I took Marcy to the mall for some shopping.  Afterwards John, Annie and I went to dinner at a place called Cool Water Cafe and Catering.  We all decided on the salad bar.  It was a nice salad bar with lots of fresh selections.

Later tonight John and I went to Bob and Marcy’s for some 10 Penny.  I won the first round with 115, Marcy won the second with 45 and John won the last with 30.  The cards were not kind to Bob tonight.  We will have to have another rematch. LOL

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.
