Finally made it to Indian Springs State Park.

Up real early this morning and on the road by 7:15 a.m.  That is very early for us. LOL   We were just in time to get in all the morning commuter traffic.
John stopped to check the air in the tires on the way out of town this morning.  By the time we got through all the traffic is was 8:00 a.m.  This is our first trip with this new truck.  It performed very well.
John resting is hand while cruising down the road.

The trip was uneventful and we arrived at Indian Springs State Park around 5:00 p.m.  Our friends Barb, Bob and Dick were there to greet us when we pulled in.   So good to see them again.  Fred was happy to see them all also.

Barb had dinner ready tonight.  Thank you so much Barb for the wonderful meal.  I was greatly appreciated.

A visit with the grandbabies

Cooler temperatures today.  It never got above 47 degrees.  I wish the warm weather would decide to stick around.

Robert, Kelsey and the grandbabies came by for a visit. We always enjoy that.

Shelby and Ava.

John's hand healing well.

John's post-op appointment was this morning.  The cast was removed and the hand is looking good and healing well.  After that appointment John was sent to another office to have a smaller splint made.  John was told to come back next week so the surgeon could remove the stitches and check his hand again.   His next appointment is Tuesday morning.  We hope to get good news then.

John enjoying a popcycle.   Awe, he doesn't look too happy in this picture.  He is probably tired of me taking his picture. LOL

Yesterday our friend Mike Kennedy celebrated a birthday.  Happy Belated Birthday Mike.  Sorry we missed it.  Hope you had a wonderful day.

A visit with Robert, Kelsey, Ava & Shelby.

John doing well.  Not much pain. Yeah!!  We had visitors today.  Robert, Kelsey, Ava and Shelby came by and stayed for a little while.  It is always fun to watch Ava in action. She is very entertaining.  She also helps out mom with Shelby.

From OUCH! to AHHH!

John has had a tough couple of days with managing the pain from his hand surgery.  Today was the first day he was able to sit up most of the day with no severe pain.

Annie and Terry came by this morning for a visit and brought John some chicken and dumplings and a cherry cheesecake.  Great comfort food. Thank you Annie and Terry.  Of course Fred enjoyed their attention while he was here.

Fred and Terry having a howling good time. LOL  (sorry the pictures are blurry)

In the afternoon Bob and Marcy came by for a visit. It was great to see them.  Hopefully we will be able to enjoy a card game when John feels up to it.

John and Fred people watching.

You can tell John is feeling much better today.  Yeah!!

Ouch.... a screw and a plate!

Our day started out early at the surgeon's office.  John got the news he did not want...surgery.  The doctor said the ring finger and knuckle on his right had needed to be put back in place and that it was a spiral fracture.  They were able to schedule his surgery for 1:30 this afternoon but as anyone knows who has had surgery, it never happens on time.

Here is John waiting.
And waiting some more.  He couldn't get comfortable with the hand up or down.

After waiting all day they finally took him to surgery at 4:06 p.m.  During the surgery Annie came by to sit with me.  I really appreciated her company. The surgery lasted about an hour.  When the doctor came out he said he had to put in a screw and a plate to adequately repair the hand.

When John woke up he was in lots of pain.  We finally made it home around 8:00 p.m.

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and prayers.  They are greatly appreciated.

Oh no.....John broke his hand.

Busy day today.  I stayed home to get the inside travel ready and John went the hospital to sit with Mom Hatch.  Tomorrow was supposed to be our travel day.  Later in the afternoon John went to a friend's shop and broke his hand while drilling holes to mount a tool box to the truck.   That was around 4:45 pm.  He stopped off at the MEA clinic on the way home and had it X-rayed.  It was definitely broken so they referred him on to River Oaks Hospital to have it set.   As you can tell by the clock in the hospital picture some time has elapsed and John was starting to feel the pain.

John waiting for the doctor to come in.  He really needed some pain medicine.

All done and waiting to be discharged.

Tomorrow he is supposed to see a surgeon to determine if any surgery is needed.  Needless to say, we won't be heading out tomorrow.

Mom Hatch recovering and going to rehab

Mom Hatch has been moved to the Methodist Rehabilitation Center and is recovering and going to rehab.
Mom Hatch heading off to rehab.

Tomorrow Ava Grace is having hernia surgery.  It supposed to be an outpatient procedure.  We will be happy when it is over.  It is tough to see little ones going through medical stuff.

We are still having cold weather.  Today it actually got above freezing for a little while.  I am so ready for the cold weather to leave.  We are planning to leave out Friday morning for GA if all goes well.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

Mom Hatch Improving

John and I visited with Mom Hatch this morning.  She is eating well and sitting up today.  They are giving her pain medicine as needed.  The doctor will probabably send her to the rehabilitation center to recuperate for a few weeks before releasing her to go home.

This afternoon my sister had a gathering at her house to celebrate my birthday.  The weather was nice and warm today we actually got to spend time outdoors.

For dinner tonight we had chosen to go to Cerami's, our favorite Italian restaurant, but it was closed.  We ended up at Twin Peaks.  The food and service were both great.

We enjoyed spending time with family today.  Thank you to everyone for making my birthday so special.
