Dinner with friends.

Up early to go to seminars.  Most of the day was spent coming and going to seminars.  Tonight the gang went to a China King Restaurant for dinner.  It was not the best we’ve had but we enjoyed going out with friends.

Hey Mac is that the third one? LOL

After dinner we went over to Ham-O-Rama where fellow Escapee members put on a talent show for entertainment.  There were several talented people playing instruments.

John’s back is doing much better today.  He is getting around faster without all the ouch. Yeah!

Can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of Escapades.  The time sure has flown.

We were adopted by the Class of 2007.

John’s back was better today. Yeah!! He was able to get around and go to a couple of seminars.

This afternoon we attended Happy Hour with the Escapee Class of 2007. At the end of Happy Hour we were adopted by the Class of 2007 and were presented with pins. They are a great bunch of people.

Tonight John and I went to play bingo with the gang. There were so many of us we took up two tables. Arlene was the only one of us who won. We all had a great time playing.

John goes to chiropractor.

And the rains came… Early this morning it rained for a little while….which was just enough to make the campground a muddy mess. Uck. It cooled the temperatures down very nicely.

John went into town this morning and found a chiropractor. He is moving a little better but still has the ouch moments. He will probably be going back a couple more times.

Tonight Mac and Netters picked us up and we went over to the hall to see the comedian. Last night’s performer was so good we were hoping this guy would be too. He wasn’t and we didn’t stay long. While we were in the hall a couple of storms moved into the area with high winds and rain. Luckily it didn’t last long and it continued to cool the temperatures.

I will try and take some pictures today. I forgot the camera when I went to seminars.

Laugh everyday. Happy trails. Stay safe.

Day 3 of Parking and John has a hurt back.

Today was the last day for parking RVs.  The parking team met before 8:00 a.m. and dispersed for the day’s job assignments.  A few parking team members weren’t needed until later in the morning so they were on standby.  John was in this group.  While he was waiting he decided to check the air in the tires and threw his back out. Ouch!!!  Poor John can hardly get up and down.  This afternoon was the Escapees Newcomers meeting and opening ceremony.  John sat through that  but was very uncomfortable.

Tonight I rode over to the hall with Mac, Netters and Arlene to attend the entertainment for the night.  Singer-Comedian Jimmy Travis entertained us with his very humorous jokes, observations on life and songs.  He was very funny and had the crowd laughing out loud.  John stayed home and took a muscle relaxer hoping that would help his back.  He will probably be going to the chiropractor tomorrow.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

Day 2 of parking.

Up early again today to work with the parking team.  The morning started out slow put picked up just before noon with a large group of solo RVers.  The rest of the day passed slowly with smaller amount of arrivals than yesterday.  It was hot outside again today.  Hope tomorrow is cooler.  Even 89 degrees would be a welcome change. LOL

Tonight John and I went out to dinner with friends to Las Margaritas.  The food wasn’t all that good but the company was great.  We had lots of laughs as usual.

Day 1 of parking.

Up way too early this morning. The parking team met for the group picture at 7:00 a.m. and began parking RVs at 7:30. There were people already lining up at 7:05 to get in.

It was very hot today and all of us on the parking team were tired tonight as I am sure all staff in other areas were as well. Hopefully the temperatures will be a little cooler tomorrow. Ha ha wishful thinking. Tonight all staff attended a dinner provided by Chop House. We had roast beef, chicken, potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls and cheesecake. The food was delicious. The best part was visiting with all our RV friends. Sorry no pictures. I forgot the camera in the RV when we went to dinner. I will have to do better. LOL

Laugh every day. Happy trails. Stay safe.

Tour of the CAM-Plex

Up early this morning and out to the Parking Team Meeting.  The whole parking team went on a tour of the CAM-Plex to view the areas where we will be parking RVs.  It was very hot today and tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same.   This afternoon all the staff met for a meeting and happy hour.  We met up with a bunch of our friends at happy hour.  It was so good to see them.

Tomorrow the Parking Team will meet at 7:00 a.m. for a group picture then disperse for our daily assignments.  We will be working from 7:30 to 2:30.  Maybe a cold front will move through the area and we will have cooler temperatures. LOL

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

Arrived in Gillette.

We arrived at the Cam-Plex in Gillette around 10:25 this morning.  There were already lots of people on the parking team there.  This afternoon the parking team got together for introductions, happy hour and dinner.  Lots of nice people.

Twin Creeks Campground

Up and out of Cody by 10:00 this morning. The ride was scenic and in some spots quite bumpy where road construction was underway. We also encountered some 7% grades. I snapped a few pictures along the way. Some of the pictures may look spotted because I took them through the dirty windshield.

We pulled into Twin Creeks Campground in Buffalo, WY for the night. When I went inside to run out the slides I noticed an oily substance coming from the pantry cabinets. Unfortunately my olive oil container did not survive the bumpy roads today. What a ucky mess to clean up! I was not a happy camper.

Tomorrow we will journey on to Gillette.

Moving day tomorrow.

Another nice warm sunny day.  We did not leave the park today just chilled out at home.  Some days you just like to do that.  This afternoon John grilled pork steaks and burgers.  The meat was already thawed out so he cooked it all at once.  That will come in handy tomorrow since it will be moving day.

Tonight some of the gang went into town for a Country Music show, some went to eat at Silver Dollar Bar and some of us just hung out at Mac and Netters visiting.  Later on some of the others joined us and visited for a while before we all called it a night.  We enjoy hearing all the travel adventures our friends share.

Tomorrow we will head toward Gillette, WY.

Laugh everyday.  Happy trails. Stay safe.

Shoshone National Park Fire Fighter Memorial

Slept in until 9:00 again.  Fred sure is getting lazy. LOL   I cooked a gallon of spaghetti and meat sauce, divided it into quarts to freeze for later.  It sure comes in handy when I don’t feel like cooking.

Later on in the afternoon John and I drove over to the Shoshone National Park.  Our first stop was the Fire Fighter Memorial in memory of the 14 fire fighters who died in the Blackwater Fire in August, 1937.

Dinner and 10 Penny

Slept in until around 9:00 this morning. Chilled out most of the day getting some household chores done.

Tonight the gang gathered for dinner together. We had tri-tip with noodles, grilled chicken, baked potatoes, green beans, bread, watermelon and pineapple cake and brownies for dessert. Everything was delicious. We all visited for a while then walked over to the park’s restaurant to play 10 Penny in one of the rooms. We divided up into two tables again tonight. John won at his table and Susie won at my table. I had a great time even though I had a high losing score of 615. LOL

Great times with good friends.

Buffalo Bill Dam, Silver Dollar Bar & 10 Penny.

This morning the “Cody Gang”, all 14 of us, went to see the Buffalo Bill Dam.  It was a very interesting place to see with awesome scenery.

Later on in the afternoon John and I rode into town with Mac and Netters.  We went to the  Old West Miniature Village and Museum in Tecumseh's Trading Post.  It has thousands of miniature figures that trace the history of Wyoming and Montana from the 1600s to the late 1890s.  A very large exhibit and worth stopping in to see.  The admission is free.

All this riding around got us thinking about food.  Mac had heard about the burgers at the Silver Dollar Bar so we all decided to go there and check it out.  The food was delicious.  They have three hamburgers on the menu a half pound regular burger,  a half pound Cajun burger and a one pound burger.
