Rest in peace Carter Hill.

Back in February we posted a note about retired Assistant Fire Chief Carter Hill being hospitalized with a life threatening illness.  Sadly, last night he lost his battle with the illness.  He had been improving then suddenly started to decline right after Easter.  He lived his life always doing for others.  Muscular Dystrophy Association for Children events and teaching fire safety programs for kids were just a couple of his favorite projects. He was always willing to give of himself tirelessly and selflessly.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this very sad and difficult time.  The fire family has suffered a great loss.

  3. Carter was a wonderful man and definately a hero in my book. He was a part of our family and he was loved by sooooo many people and will definately be greatly missed. He always had a glowing smile and could make you laugh even if you didnt want to. I have known Carter my whole life and as long as I have known him he has always been a giver and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He loved his job and loved his coworkers and the people around him. Rest in Peace Chief Hill.. We love you. Amber Sudbeck
