Happy Birthday John

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband. He is 49 years young today. We spent the day with our niece Renee. She met us at Henry’s Louisiana Grill in Ackworth for lunch. John ordered the crawfish etoufee and Renee and I got bacon Swiss burgers. The food was so delicious. As usual we ate it before I thought to get a picture.

After that delicious lunch we went over to Renee’s and played three rounds of 10 Penny. Renee won 2 rounds and I won the other one. The first one John and I tied for second.

For dinner tonight we loaded up and drove over to Marietta for pizza at the Marietta Pizza Company. This time I remembered to get a picture.

Since the weather was so nice we ate outside and enjoyed the scenery. Marietta Pizza Company is across the street from the square which has been decorated for the 4th of July.

Fallen tree limb.

Up early and over to Renee’s for breakfast and to say goodbye to Savannah, Lester, Shannon and Sandie.  They left around 10:00 heading home to Jacksonville, FL.   John and I attended worship service at Renee’s church then went back to her place to visit. We played a couple rounds of 10 Penny while watching the race.  Renee was very happy because Jeff Gordon won.  She is a die hard Jeff Gordon fan.

Later in the afternoon we went back to the park to catch up on laundry and other household chores.  When we pulled up to our site we noticed a tree limb had fallen across the driveway of our site.

We received a message tonight from Shannon saying they made it safely to Jacksonville.  I know they are glad to be home.

Happy Birthday Jeremiah.

A couple days ago I mentioned attending a demonstration for a product you can wash and wax your RV with using no water and no ladder. For anyone who might be interested in this product the website is gnlrvspecialties.com. Thanks Harris for bringing the information by this morning.

Today was travel day for us. We got up earlier than we thought and were ready to pull out of the park by 9:00. Our friends Jan and Harris stopped by this morning and we said our “see you laters” again. It was great fun getting to know them. Sure hope to meet up with them again real soon.

We arrived at McKinney Campground in Ackworth, GA around 12:30 but our site was still occupied. That meant we had to hang out at the park until the other camper left. That is no fun. John parked the rig in the parking lot at the front of the park. Lucky for us our wait was only a few minutes. After getting setup we were off to John’s niece, Renee’s. Lester and Savannah’s Mom, Shannon and Grandmother Sandie arrived shortly before us. Shannon and Sandie traveled from Jacksonville, FL to pick up Lester and Savannah. This afternoon Renee was celebrating her grandson, Jeremiah’s 3rd birthday. John got busy grilling chicken, pork chops, burgers and hot dogs.

Tomorrow will be travel day for Lester, Savannah, Shannon and Sandie. They will return to Jacksonville, FL. We have enjoyed our two week visit with Lester and Savannah and will miss them. We wish them safe travels.

Prizes, dinner, co-karts & Saying See you later.

Last day of SOITC Rally. We attended region and club meetings this morning then sat through the Dometic Seminar this afternoon. I don’t think we learned anything new but John did win a Thermoelectric Soft Cooler. Yeah!!

DSCN3722

After our meeting ended this afternoon, John and I took Lester and Savannah out go-kart riding. They had a great time even thought it was 97 degrees.

Tonight John and I attended the SOITC Rally dinner. The meal consisted of potatoes, carrots, sliced roast beef, grilled chicken, salad and red velvet cake for dessert. The raffle immediately followed dinner. This time John won a Winegard Carryout Manual portable satellite TV antenna. Wow. Today was just his day. LOL

DSCN3724

DRV gave all the couples at the dinner a cap and a visor. I think everyone received something by the time the raffles and door prizes were given out. Next we were entertained by Kenny Evans, a local talent. He performed gospel, country and a little 50s music. Very very talented.

Kenny Evans singing with three men from the audience. It was so funny.

Before we knew it it was time to call it a night and say “see you later” to some great RV friends.

Ann and Bill. We first met them in Kerrville, TX at an RV Dreams rally in 2009. It was so good to meet up with them again.

Harris and Jan. We met them Monday of this week while waiting at RV's for Less. We meet up with them again at the SOITC Rally. We have really enjoyed getting to know them and hope to meet up with them again down the road.

Tomorrow will be a travel day for us. We will make our way to Georgia to meet up with Lester and Savannah’s mom. We have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Lester and Savannah and will miss them very much.

Dinner with our RV Friends

Day Four of SOITC Rally.  John and I, along with several other members, watched a demonstration on how to wash your RV without water or  a ladder.  The person demonstrating sells cleaners and polishes.  It really works but I failed to get a business card from the man and I don’t remember the name of the cleaner.  I will try to get it tomorrow.  A lot of help I am today. LOL

The RV dealership where we purchased our 2011 Mobile Suites from is about 30 miles from here .  We had an appointment with them this afternoon to replace the Mobile Suites decal on the front of the rig.  While there we noticed an unusual colored new rig being serviced for pick up.  It was so unusual that John took a few pictures.

This is the most unusual color scheme I have ever seen on a Mobile Suites.  I would like to see what color the tow vehicle is.

The tech finished our decal in just enough time for us to get back to the campground and meet up with some fellow RV friends for a cookout.  It started raining on our way back but it did not last long.  We were able to meet under the pavilion so the weather was not a problem.  The food was delicious.  We had burgers, slaw, baked beans, spinach & artichoke dip, chips, jello salad with banana cake and a very yummy chocolate creation for dessert.  We enjoyed visiting with our fellow RVers and sharing our RV experiences.

Margarita Party

Day three of SOITC Rally.  We slept a little later this morning.  Later in the afternoon we attended a seminar on Mor/Ryde Suspensions.  Immediately after the seminar it was time for the Margarita Party.  Along with the margaritas we had chips and salsa.

Tonight Lester, Savannah, John and I walked over to Jan and Harris’ site and visited with them. While we  were there, their son, Al came  by for a visit.  He is a photographer and has published a book with photographs taken from the vantage point of a helicopter.   Very beautiful photos of the Smokey Mountains in every season.  We visited until it got dark and bugs came out.
