Happy Birthday John

Today is John’s birthday.  He is 48 years young today.  Happy Birthday to my sweet and wonderful husband.

After breakfast we headed off to St. Simon’s Island to tour the lighthouse and get my lighthouse passport book stamped.  This area is unique with quaint shops and restaurants.  When we left the lighthouse we walked past a park where a blues/jazz festival was being held.  There was music, food, craft vendors and lots of people.  The smell of food reminded us that it was lunchtime so we walked down the street looking for some place interesting to eat.  John noticed a place called Iguanas Seafood Restaurant which is famous for their shrimp.  The special for the day was shrimp with, slaw, hushpuppies and a side item for $9.95.  Not too bad for seafood.   John ordered the fried shrimp, hushpuppies, slaw and a side salad.  I ordered my shrimp blackened with slaw, hushpuppies and a side of green beans.  The food and service were great.  Since it was John’s birthday we splurged for dessert.  The two desserts they have are key lime pie and peanut butter cup pie.  We ordered one of each.  Both were delicious.

Tonight we ate leftovers and watched The Next Food Network Star competition.   Tomorrow we will be packing up and moving to Greenville, South Carolina.

Remember to laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.
