John up early and off to check the bath house and campground loop. After he got back we drove around the park to get a few pictures.
This is Moss Man. He moves around from place to place in the park and has been around for quite a while. There is actually a legend written in his honor which was started by some campers years ago.
This is the group camp area. It is totally different from the group camp are at the last park we worked at. This is a large area provided for tent camping groups such as Boy Scouts.
Here is the view of the group camp from the road.
Water tower sign. You can see the actual tower in the background.
The sign shop. This shop is responsible for making the signs for all the state parks in Florida.
The maintenance building. This is where we pickup supplies and vehicles for jobs.
One of the smaller cabins. There are 16 cabins total. The smaller ones were built in the 1930s and are still in great shape.
Another view of the cabins.
A cactus I thought was cool looking. There are a bunch of these throughout the park.
On our ride through the park today I didn’t see any turtles or rabbits to take pictures of. The other day I saw a rabbit and several turtles so I am sure before we leave I will have another photo opportunity.
Early this afternoon we drove over to Starke for a Wal-Mart run. On the way back we stopped off at a vegetable vendor and I bought some green beans and tomatoes.
Laugh every day. Happy trails. Stay safe.
Are you in Southwest Fla???Cactus?? We are interested in going that way someday..I will see where you stay in Florida!!
