Almost to Pahrump.

Our trip was uneventful and we made it to Pahrump and were set up by 2:00 p.m.  The park is nice with lots of amenities, including several dog walks.  Fred is liking that.

After getting all settled in we went into town for a  Wal-mart run.  Later, after dinner we took a drive to get some sunset pictures.

Happy Birthday Joe Klaas.

Today our friend Joe Klaas is celebrating a birthday.  We hope he had a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Joe.

We experienced 25 mile an hour winds today.  Other than that the temperature was great with the high in the low 80s.  Very nice.  After lunch we decided to take a 40 minute drive over to the town of Oatman.   Oatman was once a gold mining center.  The merchants in the town have endeavored to keep it as authentic as possible.  When you drive through it is like stepping back in time.   Burros walk freely throughout the town and they also have a mock old West gunfight.  The town has several restaurants and shops and also, it’s own post office.

We were greeted by a donkey or burro upon arrival to Oatman.  They don’t get in a hurry to move out of the way. LOL

We went in and looked around in a few shops and walked down both sides of the street….which was basically the town.  After our visit to Oatman we rode through some of the back roads to check out the scenery.

John spotted these donkeys just in time for me to snap a picture.  If you look to the center then left you can see them.

Here they are again.  One on the left side and the other one walking down the hill on the right.

London Bridge

Up early to a bright sunshiny day…..and warm temperatures.   Just my kind of weather. Yeah!!  After breakfast we drove over to Lake Havasu, AZ to see the famous London Bridge.   The bridge is the relocated 1831 London Bridge  (purchased by Robert McCulloch from the City of London) that spanned the River Thames in London, England until it was dismantled in 1967.  Really cool.

After we finished touring the area it was lunch time.  We stopped in at the In and Out Burger to give it a try. This is our first time to eat here and we were a little disappointed.  John had a “where’s the beef moment” about halfway through his burger.  The burger was more like salad on a bun.  Oh well,  you can’t have everything. LOL

Snow and very cold temperatures.

We met with Bob and Molly for breakfast at Pepe’s this morning before heading out to Williams, AZ.  It was  a little cooler in Camp Verde…..55 degrees and windy.

After a good breakfast we all said our “see you laters” and hit the road.  We hadn’t gone too far when the weather really changed.   I was reading a book on my Ipad when John said, “It’s snowing.”   Of course I thought he was joking……until I looked out the windshield.  I said, “You have got to be freaking kidding me.”  Anyone who knows me knows I do not like cold weather at all.  So I was bummed.

The trip was uneventful and we arrived in Williams before 1:00 p.m. The temperature was 47 when we got here…..and it was very windy. After eating lunch we drove  over to the Grand Canyon.   The temperature dropped while we were at the Grand Canyon.    We were able to get some cool pictures though.

It was dinner time when we made it back to Williams so we stopped in at the Pine Country Restaurant.  They are famous for their homemade pies. We split a meal and then split a piece of banana cream pie.  Then it was back to the RV for the night.   The weather forecast showed a low of 18 for the night.  Oh no! Too dang cold here for my blood.
Tomorrow will be a travel day for us.  Our destination will be Needles, CA.  John tells me it will be much warmer there.  I sure hope so.
