Up early and off to Glacier National Park for another hiking trip. Our first destination was Avalanche Lake. A 4.5 mile hike.
John at the beginning of our hike.
John saw this funny looking log and snapped a photo.
Me and my hiking poles at the funny looking log. These hiking poles are my best friend.

More scenery from the trail.
We met a young couple on the trail who were on their way to go fishing. We took their picture for them so they took one for us. They were hoping the fish were biting because that was going to be their dinner. Sure hope the fish were biting.

Another view of Avalanche Lake. This was our view while we ate lunch. Pretty awesome. We were at this spot for almost an hour.
John decided to dip his feet into the cool water.

I joined John and soaked my bad foot. My foot has done remarkably well since I got my new hiking shoes.

Wild flowers on the trail.

We came across a family at this funny looking tree. They were trying to remake a photo of themselves. This was their second visit. The first was seven years ago. On their first trip they took a picture at this tree. We took the picture for them and they insisted that we have our picture taken here also.
After this hike we weren’t really tired so we hiked to John’s lake. This hike is a 1.8 mile hike.

Laugh everyday. Happy trails. Stay safe.
Bridget, you have prettier feet than John..just sayin'..Good for you to get out and hike to see those lakes...It's more fun to really get into that scenery, but I would kill myself with those poles..They would, however, make a great bear beater..Have you ever seen any??? That would be MY biggest fear!
ReplyDeleteYep, my feet are huge. They won't let you aggravate the wildlife so she just uses them to hike. We have seen bears but NOT while hiking, yet.
DeleteWhat a beautiful hike. Thanks for sharing all your great photos.
ReplyDeleteWe took a trip to Durango. Thought about you both while we were going through the museum and walking around town. Wish we could get together again some day. Looks great where you are. I would be fishing however!!! I have caught a lot of trout here and loving the weather.
