Saying Goodbye for now.

I picked John up at the FD shortly after 7:00 a.m. We all hugged and said our goodbyes for now. I think I was more teary eyed than John. LOL The FD crew is like family and we will miss them very much.

After leaving the fire station John and I stopped off to see Bob and Marcy….. more teary eyes. Next it was on to the campground to hook up the camper. Annie and Terry met up with us in the Frisco Deli parking lot to say good bye. When we pulled up in the parking lot Annie was snapping pictures of us arriving. She likes to catalog events and make us laugh. We talked for a few minutes but I started to get teary eyed which makes Annie teary eyed so Terry, being the funny guy that he is, made us laugh. Gotta love that Terry. LOL

Our destination today was Okatoma River Resort in Lux just North of Hattiesburg, MS. We arrived shortly after lunch. The weather here has been warm and overcast with light rain here and there. Later on in the afternoon John got in touch with our friend and former fire fighter Mack Strider and made plans to meet with him and his family at Leatha’s Bar-B-Que Inn. This is the best BBQ we have tasted. The atmosphere is laid back with friendly staff. If you eat here come hungry.

Remember to laugh everyday. Happy trails. Stay safe.
