Johnny Bencomo and his 18 String Guitar.

Up and out of Deming before 11:00 a.m.  No need to get up real early since it was just a three hour drive.  Our trip was uneventful and we reached Benson and were all set up by 3:00 p.m.

Here we are crossing over into Arizona.  Gosh, that windshield sure is nasty.

Our site at Valley Vista RV Resort in Benson.

After getting settled in John was reading over the schedule of events for the park and noticed that a concert by Johnny Bencomo and his 18 string guitar was tonight at 6:30 p.m.  We have never seen an 18 string guitar so we decided to check it out.   I had just enough time to fix dinner before our walk over to the clubhouse.

Chicken breast with sautéed onions and mushrooms, steamed carrot and green beans…..that was dinner.

When we arrived at the clubhouse it was already pretty crowded.  Several people sitting around us have heard him play numerous times and they keep coming back.

He played nonstop from 6:30 to 9:30 and it was awesome.  The concert wasn’t over until he played everyone’s request. John found an article online about him and his music. Here is the link if you would like to check him out:
