Covered bridges in Somerset County, PA.

Today was a sightseeing day for us.  John mapped out a travel route for us to see the covered bridges in Somerset County.   It took a few hours but we got around to seeing all of them with the exception of the Trostletown Bridge that we saw on Sunday.   The countryside was beautiful and the temperatures were in the 70s.  A nice day for an outing.  As we traveled down some of the narrow country roads we saw lots of deer,  a fox and a rabbit.

Some of these bridges are way out on narrow roads that aren’t traveled much and some are closed to traffic.  There was only one bridge that had graffiti on the inside of it.  That was really a shame.  For the most part they have been well preserved and maintained.  One of them has been rebuilt twice.  A very interesting sightseeing trip.
Laugh everyday.  Happy trails.  Stay safe.

  1. You got to more of the covered bridges than we did. Thanks for the postings. We'll hit more of them when we get to that area again. We'll use your list. :-)

    Great post!
