Visit to the Flight 93 National Memorial

Today was a travel day for us.  We left Gettysburg before lunch and arrived at Roaring Run RV Resort in Champion, PA later in the afternoon.  Unfortunately we have 30AMP again but the temperatures here are cooler. Yeah!

After getting set up at our new spot we decided to drive over to Somerset County and visit the National Memorial for Flight 93.

On the way back to the campground we saw a sign for the Trostletown Covered Bridge.   We stopped and snapped a few pictures.  Just love covered bridges.

  1. If you have the time and are interested in history, visit Fort Necessity - a French and Indian War Site, George Washington served there and General Braddock was killed and buried nearby.

  2. I've read that some see strange things, vapors and "ghostly"images when visiting..This is a memorial that would make me cry the minute I stepped on that hallowed ground...I'm tearing up just looking at those photos..

  3. We visited the Memorial site back in 2010. It's amazing to see these pictures. When we visited, there was only a temporary parking lot and a viewing area located quite a distance from the actual crash site. I'm sure it is as somber there now as it was for us back when we were there. We'll have to go back again.
