Today was a travel day for us. We said our “see ya laters” to the Idaho Gang before we set off for Montana. We will miss them and look forward to seeing them all again in about three weeks.
The scenery was beautiful and I couldn’t resist snapping a few pictures while riding down the road.
Later this afternoon we pulled into Flathead Lake Big Arm State Park. They were full so we drove on to Flathead Lake West Shore State Park. Got into the campground and the sign read "No vehicles over 25 feet beyond this point". The sign would have been helpful at the entrance. Got turned around and started out and Bridget said it sounded like we drove under a tree limb, and it did, so I looked up and, no limb. Humm? Got out and walked around and found this.
The temporary repair
I must have caught the rock just past the slide and under the compartment door and the back cap. The tree limb sound must have been the fiberglass tearing. Calling the insurance company in the morning. We are parked at Edgewater RV Park in Lakeside, MT. What a day!

Laugh everyday. Happy trails. Stay safe.
Ouch!!! But you gotta love duct tape. Hope your insurance company does you right.
ReplyDeletePain in the behind but we feel for you. Know exactly what you are going through...hope it gets repaired and the insurance covers it...ours didn't and we did the repairs the best we could ourselves...good luck! Loretta
ReplyDeletedefinitely a big ouch... duct tape to the rescue, we saw a motorhome while we were in Georgia that had nearly ripped off their entire backend and it was also duct taped. Good luck with the insurance company.
ReplyDeleteOH MY!! Love the big band aide on the Suites..I'm sure your insurance will come through, depending on your deductible..Dennis scraped the bejesus out of our awning once on the Cougar..it happens to all of us.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at Bigfork MT by Flathead Lake, but we didn't have an RV then..Have fun!
Oh! No! That must have been an awful sound. Looks like you were able to repair it enough so you can travel with it in the short term. I think we are all in for something like this to happen sooner or later.
ReplyDelete#@$%$%! Never leave home without duct tape, unfortunately sooner or later all RVer's need it. Miss you both, glad we finally officially met. Hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a damn shame John and Bridget. :( So sorry to hear it. I hope you get her fixed soon.
ReplyDeleteI hate days like that. Hopefully the gorgeous scenery takes your mind off it. I think the first real ding is always the hardest.
Be well,
Connie

Must be a Monday thing. We threw a wheel bearing in our Casita yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLuckily caught it before the tire came off.
